We didn't want a huge surround sound system since we have little kids who go to bed early but we wanted something that would enhance the sound and overall tv viewing experience. This system covers both needs easily! Great low volume clarity, and at high volume real cinematic immersion!

The floor model I sampled in the store already sounded great. But when used in my small, open-floorplan, city apartment, the acoustics are even more immersive despite this only being a 2.1 (rather than a 5.1). This is definitely money well spent. You can't go wrong with this Sony product.
