We have it set up according to directions and it does work. It just doesn't seem to enhance the sound. Very seldom kicks in unless we have the sound up exceptionally high.

Still had all the original plastic on it and was never unpacked. I saved $50 because someone opened it and returned. Good deal for me. I like the sound bar. Came with its own remote and wireless subwoofer. Sound is good, nice to hear the subtle rumble of the sub in the background. Was able to hook it up in order to get my TV remove to adjust the sound. The only issue is that sometimes the sound does not exactly sync with the TV. I'm not sure if there is a fix to this. I don't always notice it. But when it occurs, it is annoying. Then I read online that this is a feature of some Sony Sound Bars that Sony does not have a fix for. This should not be a problem.

On this it excels. If I have one complaint, it is the lack of a minijack for input. but I was aware of this when I purchased it. Not their fault that I thought I could output i/8 to HDMI. But older TV's and the like still have that. Otherwise, I would recommend this product.
