Great Sony full frame telephoto zoom lens!

Sharp all the way through. I prefer to shoot with this lens on a monopod or tripod due to the weight, but with it’s optical stabilization you could handhold. Because of its size, I bought a Lowpro LP36776 Lens Trekker 600 AW lll backpack. I carry my monopod, extra batteries a second camera and lens on outside attached case (sold separately). The lens and camera are stored in the backpack and ready to use. The lens goes from 200mm to 600mm in a quarter turn of the barrel. Very easy to zoom in or out for sports applications. I highly recommend this lens!

This lens is wonderful. The only drawback is the bokeh doesn’t blur very much if the subject is mixed in with other objects or people who are within 20 feet. But for the difference in price to the next model up, I can justify saving $8000.

Considering the price not a great value and that it is not made in Japan, hence minus one star. Should Sigma release a DG DN version it will no doubt it will cost about half the Sony G lens and match the G lens performance. Until then, the Sony G lens will have to suffice. While it does surpass the Sigma 150-600 C lens, with a MC-11 adapter, in nearly all regards expect price, I suspect the untrained eye will not be able to tell the final images apart. To match my shooting style, I mated a NISI Ti UV filter and installed a Wimberley foot. Hand holding is not a problem as the lens optical stabilization and Sony (7iii) camera IBIS work fine together. Be aware the lens is longer compared to the Sigma lens and may require you to purchase a larger capacity photo bag or backpack like that made by ThinkTank which could set you back a couple of hundred. I tossed in some snapshots just for fun.

Sweet lens.

Love the internal zooming and the stability is great. I shoot air shows with it and its does excellent.

Great for wildlife,sports and events. I would say though that the aperture could be better if it was F4 but that’s my own opinion of what to use for sharper images

Great lense for action and wildlife photography

I have considered buying a Tamron lense with similar focal length but getting a Sony lense within reasonable price range have me go for this one. My only issue with Bestbuy online purchaes is that they shipped this expensive lense in its original packaging only and not in a bigger box. On top of that the box was kot even sealed with tape, when I received it, it was missing lense strap and also lense cover. Return the lense and received replacent in couple of days same way but this time received everything in it. Maybe in future when I am purchasing something expensive, I will buy it in person inside the store only. 4 stars and not 5 stars for shipping and packaging reasons.
