Purchased it for my son for Christmas for his PS4 he really likes it.

I mostly hated the Dual Shock 3 as being one of the least innovative and interesting controllers of all time, but the DS4 is great. It's larger, more comfortable in the hands, and the touchpad, which at first seems gimmicky, is actually really useful. I also like that they copied the Wii Remote's built in speaker, as it really helps with immersiveness in some games.

Everyone has their preference for controllers, the difference is the degree of seriousness taken with said preference. While the new DualShock 4 is by no means perfect, it does have an intuitive interface that helps the playability of some games. Not only does the touch pad work as such, it is also a button that will perform not-so-apparent functions in some games. Gone are the "Start" and "Select" buttons, replaced instead with the "Options" button. It makes the design cleaner and the interface more intuitive. There is also a "Share" button, but I don't use Social Media, so I can't comment on its usefulness. One of my favorite features, however, is the lighted status indicator on the front of the controller. It will change colors to indicate actions, like loading, saving, etc. Overall, it's a great design and an improvement over the last model!

This is a great controller but I highly recommend the warranty because sometimes the left joystick sometimes drifts left. I know it’s extra but I think it’s a must buy. Happens usually after one year of use playing about 4 days a week for several hours.
