Solid Controller, Questionable Durability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this controller as a replacement for the Dualshock 4 that came with my launch PlayStation 4. The sticks on that controller wore down and eventually stopped working properly. It's the first controller that's ever quit on me, but this replacement feels different. Sony has apparently changed some of the materials in the DS4 since launch, and it feels more solid. The rubberized analog sticks aren't as "gummy" as before. I still love the design of the controller and how it feels in my hands. I've had this one a few months, and it hasn't broken down. Only time will tell how much things have improved, however.

I thought about buying an off brand controller but I'm happy I bought what I did. It stays charged for a long time and there is no lag in the joysticks. It has greatly improved my gaming.

Only downside of this model over the one that came with my launch system is Sony changed the rubber on the sticks and they added a window to the touchpad. Now you get to see the annoying light on the front and top of your controller.

Lighter and lasts longer

Turns out that this is the newer version of the same controller with a longer battery life and slightly lighter in weight than the original. Very impressive, that the battery lasts much longer.
