Not a great lens as you'd expect from zeiss lenses. Get 28-70 kit lens and you can save tons of money. Performance is about the same on both lens so why spend extra!!!

This is a good lens to take different type of pictures

Product was not as sharp as it supposed to be also as i bought this open BOX product it seems like the product have some short of misuses. Also way too much distortion than other 24-70 F4 lens that i have used. I supposed not to get charged for restoration fees but it seems like they charged me 15% even though the product was sold in bad condition. Very unhappy with Best buy about this.

I am using this with my A7RII and I am a bit disappointed. Not sharp and very slow autofocus.

Though the cost of this lens is a bit high for the casual camera user with small budgets for camera equipment, it doesn't take away from it being a fantastic go to lens that can stay mounted for a variety of photography moments. For the photography buffs out there, compare images taken using same settings, with other lenses images with lower than F4 stop and you might not be disappointed at all. Note that it's aperture blades are circular and the lens is a fixed Zoom lens with constant fixed F4 stop aperture, 24-70mm range. You'll see that it's cost is reasonable for a higher quality lens. Lenses that are fixed at lower Fstops with similar comparable specifications will generally always cost you lots more. I'm not implying that other reviews didn't consider what I'm about to say but if any vingetting is noticed or image appears a little weak towards the edges it might not be a matter of the lens lacking quality but rather it could be because of what circular aperture blades do, not that it produces vingetting. Some other factors could be the camera settings such as focal range and metering and existing conditions surrounding the image you're trying to capture. I know very little about photography but these are my opinions in my review of this product.

I bought this for my newly released Sony A7 III. This is an awesome lens. It is much better than the kit lens that came with the camera. Yes, it is little heavy but I think it is worth carrying the weight to make better pictures. There are so many arguments about this lens, some people love it and some hate it. But for me this is one of the best lens I own. Every time I get perfect pictures from this lens. This is a must have for Sony A7 camera.

I purchased this lens with my A7S II for video and it worked fantastically because 1) 4K video doesn't push the limits of resolution for this lens and 2) the A7S II is so good with low light that you don't need a brighter lens than this f4. However, when I purchased the A7R II, I recognized that this lens does not do the 42mp sensor justice. While the photos and videos do look fantastic on the A7R II, I noticed that at full resolution for photos, the images could be much sharper. I am keeping the lens for video use, but just purchased the G Master version. Can't comment yet on whether the G Master is worth the 2X cost difference because most online reviewers are professionals or posers, so the jury is still out for me until I test for my own needs.

Took this lens on a trip to Moab Utah with the a7r and the quality blew me away. It's well built and very good quality. Would buy it again.

I almost never write negative reviews, however on this product I really want to give a fair assessment. I had this lens for about 2 weeks and had to return it. Don't get me wrong, it's solid, great build and mostly good sharp pics (sharpness was hit or miss for me). But at the end of the day, it just felt average. Didn't wow me or impress me that much. I found myself preferring my other lenses and felt overall.. "meh" about this lens. Overall, it's "ok" but for $1100 I should love it.

Unfortunately this wasn't as sharp as I expected considering this is a Zeiss lens.
