Great everyday lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a very compact lens compared to a lot of other 35mm primes from other companies. The autofocus is loud, but it is fast and accurate on my a6300. Wide open, this lens is a little on the soft side, with maximum sharpness being found at around f5.6 Despite it's slight issues, I'd still recommend it over the Sigma with similar stats, mainly because the Sony is stabilized.

I got into astrophotography a while ago and this lens does a great job for the price point. I also have a food blog and it takes great photos of the dishes I make. I also love the low light features.

He was looking for a lens where he didn't have to worry about blurring the background all the time, and this lens fit that bill. Be aware that you cannot zoom in and out; it is a fixed lens.

I take a lot of portraits of my pet and this lens is great for portraits when you need to be closer to your subject. It’s also a good all around lens for taking any photos. I am happy with the performance I get out of it
