Customers value the 35mm f/1.8 Prime Lens for Most NEX E-Mount Cameras for its amazing image quality, pleasing bokeh, and excellent low light performance. The lens is also appreciated for its size, weight, ease of use, and depth of field. However, some customers feel that the price is a bit high, and a few find the focus ring less than ideal.

This is a pretty good lens. Image is crisp and adds to the oss if you have the capability. auto focus is a bit loud. If you have an external mic this isn't an issue. just remember what you get with a crop sensor. a 35mm is now a 56mm. no real complaints from me on this. I enjoy this lens and will continue to use it for years to come. Glad I don't listen to the simple minded employees there. I knew what I wanted and got it. Employees always seem to know extremely little about any product in the store. Get this lens if you have an e-mount. you won't regret it.

I was skeptical that this lens would produce that much of a change in quality of photos taken vs the kit lens. I was proven wrong. This lens produces some sharp images. I definitely have no regrets shelling out the cash for this lens. Definitely my go to everyday lens. Works well in most environments.

This is an excellent lens for it low light performance.
35mm x 1.5 (crop factor) = 52.5mm making this a good general purpose lens for everyday use. The f1.8 (very fast lens) allow this lens to capture much much better low light picture compare to the stock lens.
I regretted I didn't buy prime lens sooner.

I purchased the camera body with this lens in lieu of the kit lens. I read several reviews and I wanted to make sure I was using a lens to match what I was looking for without settling on the kit lens. This lens is definitely worth it!

I spent many hours reading reviews comparting this lens to the Sigma 30MM. I chose this over the Sigma 30 because of it's compact travel size and optical steady shot. I am glad I did....the whole purpose of a travel size A6000 series camera is to keep it light during travel.

I'm definitely not a Pro, but this lens can certainly create superior images compared to similar shots using the kit lens. This lens let's me capture sharper images in lower light settings.

This lens was my first lens purchase for my a6000 and it has not disappointed me. The low f1.8 creates a beautiful background blur effect and allows me to easily take clear pictures of my kids, even when they're moving around a lot, something to kit-lens struggled to do in less than perfect lighting.
Great lens!

lovely lens, i'm glad to have it
removed points because best buy doesnt give a care how they ship a camera lens of all things. just stuck the original box in a small padded envelope and called it a day.
bought this open box excellent, but accessories were missing. good job vetting your items. if you ever buy expensive items like these in open box, consider picking it up in store and save yourself some frustration.

I've been an amateur/enthusiast photographer for nearly 20 years, and chose this lens as my first prime for my Sony A6000 mirrorless camera. The image quality is fantastic, with all of the benefits you're looking to get from a high-end prime lens. Nevertheless, I have noticed that I look at compositions a bit wider before framing them up in the viewfinder with the 35mm lens. On the APS-C sized sensor on the Sony mirrorless cameras, I find myself needing to take a couple steps back to get the full composition set in my shots.

Absolutely amazing pictures! The portraits you can take with this lens are amazing! The only downside is that there’s no zoom but you quality of the pictures overrides that in my book anyday.

Works very well on all three of my SONY mirrorless cameras (A6000, NEX5 and NEX3). Take photos of the grand children and general outdoor use. Handles indoor natural light photos very well including backlit pictures.
The 35mm equivalent of 52mm suits a majority of my subject needs.

This prime lens works nicely with my Sony A6000 and A6500. Very effective in low light with fast AF. The build quality is excellent, and the focusing ring feels smooth and responsive. Great color and bokeh as well. Perfect for street photos as it is unobtrusive.

Bought the Sony a6000 mirrorless DSLR, and bought this prime lens to go along with it. It creates a very professional shallow depth of field (background blur effect) especially in video. As the salesperson said: "You'll like the camera – you'll love the lens."

I've been hesitant to buy a new lens because it's so expensive, but finally gave in and glad I did. The pictures turn out so much nicer! I'm not super savvy with the camera so a fixed lens definitely helps.

This lens is a must have for every song e-mount camera user who's taking the photography hobby/profession/etc. seriously. Fantastic quality. But it's a little too pricey in my opinion. The 50mm 1.8 is just as amazing and 200 bucks cheaper. I don't get it.
