I told him I lost picture quality on my current TV when viewed from any angle other than straight in front. He told me why that was happening and recommended this model. Now, I have excellent viewing from any angle in the room and even the adjoining rooms.

Sony delivers best in class picture again

Truly a great picture from colors, contrast to the detail. I have owned several HDTVs in the past and always come back to Sony for their superb picture quality. I watch ALOT of sports and the motion is never blurred. Would have given this TV a 5 star but the DirecTV App has some issues at times and requires a restart. Would also prefer to use the DirecTV remote and not the Sony remote. One other 'improvement' that should be made is with the DLMA interface. Will not play videos from my home network. Always blown away by Sony's picture quality, even over my Panasonic and Samsung plasma HDTVs. This is my 2nd Sony HDTV and their picture quality as well as motion clarity are best in class, no competitor gets close. This is based on having owned a variety of Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba and Sony HDTVs since 2002.

Does require Android updates that render TV unusable for 30 minutes at a time and does require that your remain around as it will simply come back on when finished and you will need to revert to TV mode or turn it off manually.

The display is beautiful. Switching between regular TV/APPS takes getting used to but not difficult. Keyboard for entering passwords is cumbersome but thankfully you do not need it that often. Overall fantastic unit.
