I had a 2007 Sony Bravia (which is still in great condition and now in my bedroom) and was thinking of switching to a Samsung based on reviews. I went to my local BestBuy with questions and a semi-made up mind and the sales associate steered me back to Sony. I am so happy I did not switch brands because this tv has great picture quality and looks great too! I am 100% satisfied.

Good TV, but finicky

However, it has this bizarre "Picture Off" button that I accidentally pushed and the TV locked up while running. Had to restart it to fix that one. One day while watching TV, it decided that it only wanted to stay on one channel and wouldn't allow me to change the channels. Had to restart the TV to fix that one too. It has strange behaviors that make me nervous for long term usage.

Awesome TV!

They had a smaller Sony next to the one we were looking at. The picture quality and color of the "other" brand just couldn't compare to the Sony. THEN...we saw that this 49" Sony was only $100 more than the 43". We just had to get it! We absolutely loved everything about this Sony. The picture is magnificent!!

You modify the picture quality by changing the picture settings under display. In addition, the picture quality depends on the signal content.
