This tv is aweful. The picture does not blend well at all. It took a lot of time to find a picture I was ok with. The apps were always crashing, it only played about have of my network drive files. (Samsung plays Every file) Tv locked up all the time. I found the remote clunky and feels cheap. I factory reset twice over a 6 month period until I finally went back to Samsung. So happy again. Do yourself a favor, make sure you by it from bestbuy so when it becomes a pain to deal with you can take it back hassle free.

The picture quality/resolution of this Sony is not as good as in store, even when viewing HD programs. It's OK, but there's better units out there for about the same money.

Look elsewhere. This TV set has a very poor contrast ratio due its IPS panel. The Samsung JS6500 has better contrast and more accurate colors.

Just under 30 days of owning my 4K Sony Bravia it started to turn off while watching. Would have to do a reset in order to be able to watch again. Now waiting for a my appointment (which will take a week from the time I called about the problem) with geek squad to have a technician come and hopefully fix it. Not a happy camper.

I must be missing something because a majority of people love this TV. I bought one, and it does have some great features but it is not a great TV. The Good: The price point on this 4K TV is great. The Android part of it works well. The clarity is great. The color pops in bright light. It even looks nice and I like the stand, as minor of a point as that may be. 4 HDMI ports is a definite plus. You can never have too many of those. The Bad: The Standard remote is terrible. It is not intuitive at all. There is no way I would ever buy something like this for someone that does not get along with technology. TV's should not have endless menus to get where you want. It would really help to have more programmable buttons to get you to your apps. Getting the color the way I like it has been a nightmare. The preset settings can all be adjusted and tweaked for the most part. There is part of the configuration that you cannot get too. What I mean is I can have the exact same settings an every preset and every preset will look different. After getting everything close the way I like it on "Custom" I had to program the same values in one of the "Cinema" presets to get the color closer to where I wanted it. The sound is horrible. This may be my doing. I have it in a corner and perhaps it needs a wall right behind it to properly project the sound. This may be an issue for those that are not using a soundbar or some other external speaker system. The Ugly: Flat panel TV's have a sweet spot. Right in front of the screen. You can usually move around a bit and not lose clarity. Not on this TV. While the colors seem to hold up pretty well, the back light and contrast do not. If you are watching it in a dark room, holy Hannah does it look bad. I understand the TV is edge lit but the spotlights in the corners and the white cloud that obscures the darker details really sucks. My couch is about 8 feet away, and you only needs to move a foot or two to lose the decent picture you have right in front of the set. It is a horrible TV for dark room. Absolutely, a beautiful picture if you are in a well lit area, like Best Buy or the surface of the sun, but forget it when it comes to dark. I love Sony. Almost everything I have is Sony, but this one may be going back. While I can get over the terrible remote and the horrible sound, I cannot accept the screen quality in a dark room. Most of my TV watching is at night and this simply will not fly.

I went to Best Buy to purchase a Samsung TV originally and after talking to the salesperson I decided to buy this TV instead since it was 4K. I ended up buying a soundbar that night also made by Sony and my DVD player is a Sony so I figured it may be helpful to have all my electronics be the same brand. Picture quality is great for the price. The salesperson tried getting me to spend $80 each on new HDMI cables but my old ones seem to work fine and I have seen them for a lot cheaper on Amazon. Outside of installing the stand, set up was really easy, just took a while for everything to download. Negatives: The instructions aren't very clear. Especially the stand. There was a small piece of paper with no printed words and two drawings that made no sense at all. On Sony's website and the instruction book for the TV it says to see the instruction sheet that came with the TV. After spending almost an hour on google I finally found a site that told how to do it. If they would have had decent instructions I could have completed the job in a couple minutes. Also the stand isn't very sturdy. I had Directv installed the day after I bought it and the Direct installer even made a comment that the stand didn't seem sturdy enough to support that heavy of a TV. I asked the saleperson if it had a build in webbrowser and I was told it was standard anymore. I find out this TV doesn't have one and after reading the Q&A's on here I found out you can download one from the Google store which I did but in order to use it you have to use the keyboard on your phone and I can't get my phone to connect to it (fortunately I use a laptop and just use the HDMI cable from that and use my laptop if I want to browse the web on the TV. Like another reviewer pointed out this doesn't work with Iphones. The sales person didn't mention that to me even though I had my iphone in my hand when he approached me (I was so frustrated that I couldn't find a salesperson to help me I had my phone out ready to order the Samsung TV I originally came in to buy from Costco on my phone but finally got some help after 20 minutes). The remote is pretty bulky and looks like something from the 90s. It does control my Sony soundbar though as well fine. If this worked with an Iphone and the stand was better I would probably give this four stars and keep it. Since I don't have a Android phone and plan on keeping my Iphone a lot of these TV functions are useless and it's probably going back to Best Buy this week. If someone has an android phone and is going to wall mount the TV this is a great 4K TV for the price.

Attractive look. Picture is acceptable for OTA (HD) television viewing. Apple tv streaming 1080p is acceptable. I find the remote klunky and use of it in navigating programs and the on-screen keyboard is frustrating. Netflex is not accessible from TV native APP. Can do without the Google Snoop and android TV. I upgraded to this TV for the triluminos display, the 120hz and the speakers. None of these met my expectations, or is noticeable improvement over the Samsung I exchanged for it. While viewing television 84 inches away at eye level can still see reflections from the area behind me. The TV I exchanged for this one was the Samsung UN50JU6500FXZA. I was happy with it! Just don't see the extra $500.valve in this Sony.

I purchased this TV as a replacement for my Sony Bravia TV that was struck by lightning. I picked it up at my Best Buy store and had it home and installed within an hour. It's easy to set up and very intuitive. It has an amazing picture, and upscales the HD signal from my Verizon FIOS to look better than it ever did on my 1080p TV. I watched a nature show shortly after the install and was amazed at the look and sound of the babbling brook in the background. It made me want to jump in the water for a swim! The included apps are plentiful and easy to access, and the response times are fast. Hanging it on the wall was simple since the holes on the back for the mount are standard and all 4 HDMI ports are accessible from the side after it is hung up. (ALL of the port of every kind are accessible.) I was able to connect my cable box, Apply TV and BluRay player in a snap, and everything just worked. This is a great TV at a great price. I would highly recommend it!

Great product. I believe Sony makes the best TVs. Did my research and purchased it at Best Buy. Brought it home. My son and I had it up & running in about 20 minutes. After a few minor tweaks in the settings for my preferences this TV exceeded my expectations. I really like the live football feature. If I had the space I would have purchased the 55 inch.

    PC gaming tv!!

So I went into best buy with the intent to buy the vizo m50 c1 for a 4k gaming monitor for my PC. I have a PC with a titan x, Xbox one and PS4. When I got there the young lady that waited on me showed me a VIZO tv that they have on display. The VIZIO tv had a small green boarder on it. Its a defect that she said just popped up. She told me to buy what I want but she saw no problems on the Sony TV. Rtings says that the Sony is bad in dark rooms because of its IPS screen. I am typing this now in a dark room on this Sony and have no problems and the screen is plenty bright and contrast is good to my eyes. After a couple changes in the screen resolution on the PC, everything is as crisp and clear as my dedicated dell 27 inch 1440 display was (> $700 monitor) . I am loving this larger screen and do not regret the purchase! This is great for a PC gaming monitor and web browsing is great too!!
