Going Back after only 24 hours
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried every known setting to get this picture to look respectable, but can not. My 50" Sony from last year looks 10xs better and this TV is not a good choice for any room with light. The overall theme is TOO dark and the picture quality is suspect. Set up is user friendly, but putting the "for sale" items first and the settings at the bottom is cheesy. The size is what brought me to this set but I am going to try the 55" and hope it is not too big. Keep looking if you are set on this TV.

Easy Set up looks great!

Bad experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used sony products for years before HDTV's (radios disc man, TV, playstation) but this, my first 4k was not fun. I'm a tech pro and I have 42 in Sansung that works well. I decided to upgrade my experience to 4k and it took forever to do a software upgrade and when I finally start watching content it could not recognize my HDMI cables saying no signal. These cables I've never had issues with al of a sudden I hook up a Sony and it works and doesn't work another. Tried different configurations that worked with my Samsung and this one couldn't figure it out. Lastly here's another issue. They give you instructions on page 21 to walmount. You would think they would tell you what type of screws to get not just length or size buttery failed to say metrics spent 2 tripe to Home Depot plus hours of configuration with the HDMI which says no signal frequently.

Everything perfect but motion rate...

Started good but getting bad.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product at first. Didn't get extended warrenty so had 30 day warrenty on it. After 6 weeks of having it we started having problems with programs on the tv. We would get them fixed over the phone but dealing with customer service over an hour each time (combination of Sony and Comcast. Now after about 10 weeks having it we have had like 6 problems and now sound will come out but no picture and it stays on the Netflix channel but sound is from a tv station. Been working on it now for 90 minutes and nothing is working. Seems like were trying to fix things more then watching tv. BUT when everything is working properly its great. Just run into to many errors and now where thinking of calling Sony back and just requesting our money back or a different model.

not a fan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.few things i did not like. 1. the "4K upscale" only applies to BD 1080p/24fps content. the TV would only display the movie itself, it would not show the player's menu at 480p, it just blinked until i started the movie. 2. i hate the adroid/google upgrade with all the apps 3. the new cheap tv stands they supply are unattractive and wobbly. i'll just stick to the 1080p 46" 120hz Sony i already have. less drama.

It make the TV display aspect of it more difficult with a bluray player. it keeps intrupting me and trying to do voice commands I don't want. SONY if you care at all about your customers drop the smart part of the TV and just sell a monitor, the picture is beautiful, but google android is a absolute distraction from how wounderfull this tv could be. and I can't seem to find a way to disable it.

During the inquiry and sale, it was a no-pressure situation and I felt like I got a good education along the way that helped make the decision to go big, or go home. I am VERY happy with my Sony 4K Smart TVs - I hung one and the other is on the included chrome stand. The picture is a knockout and I'm using Logitech Harmony remotes to control. I'm not very TV technical, I just like a good picture and an easy user-experience - I've got both and then some. Thanks BB!!

just not a good tv

Been buying sony for over 30 years after calibration still not a good enough picture I have 2 older sony tvs that have a better picture tried everything i could to get a decent picture not with this tv colors are good but that's about it and there is to much light bleed in corners in nighttime viewing and the android apps are buggy!! Got a Samsung 55 curved tv and it blows this tv away been big on sony but not with this tv!

Getting the third replacement from Sony, I hope...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had it for 3 days using the component port. After the latest updates loaded the colors were off. Tried to correct in the settings and the only way to fix was a full factory reset, which helped that day but the next day colors wrong again. Yes i tried a different device on the component port and several different cables all having the same result. Called Sony on phone for about 3 hours they couldn't fix it, so i returned it to best buy who took it back no problem. Second one used on component for a week worked beautifully. Decided to do the updates then the component port had messed up colors. Again only way to fix was full factory reset daily. Sony said they would repair it and ordered the part. TV started to work normally for about a week, Sony called said they couldn't get the part and would replace it. I said it was working Sony said call back if it malfunctioned and they would replace it no problem. Next day it malfunctioned again, called Sony now they want copy of the receipt which i emailed to them while on phone but it takes 48 hours for them to read the receipt and decide that it's 6 weeks old and they should replace it like they said they would a day before. So now waiting the 48 hours if I don't get this resolved in 2 days it's going back to best buy and I'm done with Sony.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to Best Buy and was thinking about purchasing a Samsung TV. The sales guy talked me into purchasing this TV. He said it was great and you could add Android apps to it. I have had this TV for about 10 days and could not get the Wi-Fi to work. After working with it for many hours I reset the TV to factory and it started to work. Then I went to the Google Play Store and found out you can not add apps. You have to use the apps that are pre loaded. Within the Google Play Store the only way you can search for items is by voice. Could not get that to work. Called Sony and found out you have to purchase another extra remote for that feature. Could not get this TV to connect to the Internet. Picture is real bad and the screen has tons of glare. You have to close the windows and turn off all lights in the room. I think I knew more about the TV then the girl at Sony Tech Support.
