GREAT TV BUT ONLY WORKS WITH ANDROID
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite having an iPhone in hand while buying this TV, the folks at Best Buy still sold it to me. The TV worked fine (picture was INSANELY GOOD) but all of the smart functions were worthless because I don't use Android. Had to return.

Awful TV and nothing but problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not purchase this television. We bought two of them. On the 49 inch we have to continually reset the initial set up because after a week or two it starts to glitch and the sound is 5 seconds off the actual program we are watching. Many times the VUDU logo is still on the cable screen or netflix even though you are no longer in VUDU. Many ... many .. many major problems. We should have known there was a large problem when the first one we purchased was already broken before we even took out of the box. Then when we were leaving Best Buy with the second television a man was walking in with the same one because the computer on his went bad as well.

Android TV system is useless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Netflix, fake play store (only few apps), most apps don't work properly. You can't find a place to buy a touchpad remote (RMF-TX100U).I would return this TV to buy a last year model. I feel sad Sony is getting worse and worse.

The SmartTV that needs AppleTV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally planning to purchase a Samsung however the Sales Person talked up this TV so much that I thought that I was getting a great deal. I should have known what I was in for when I saw the price. I have had this tv for five months and I have been regretting the purchase for awhile. The picture is incredibly dark and bright colors almost appear over-exposed. Sometimes the picture will not focus and the overall picture is cloudy. That, however is not my biggest concern. I upgraded to a SmartTV to be able to have my appleTV connected somewhere else in the house but still have access to Netflix, Hulu, etc. After about a month, all of the smartApps stopped working. The TV will not connect to the internet, I have reset the connection at least 10 times and it will connect for a day and then drop off again. So, the appleTV is back to being connected in the living room. It is likely that this TV will soon be relegated to another part of the house and I will be looking for something different as our main home viewing television before football season

This TV is Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was talked into buying this 4K tv over a regular 1080P tv and am highly disappointed. The picture is worse than my 5 year old LG 42". Even after I spent all night calibrating the tv it still was very poor. No matter what I did the picture looked to dark and even looked out of focus. Also, I couldn't get Netflix to work and the other apps were very slow and would freeze. My final issue with the tv was that I couldn't get voices to play on HDMI 2 input without turning tv off/on. It would play background music and sound effects but no dialog. I even tried multiple HDMI and AV cables. This was my first and last Sony tv. Needless to say I will be returning tomorrow.

Black Line
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldnt have been more upset. Got it home and turned it on, a black line was running from top to bottom on the right hand part of the screen, hoping best buy will bring out a new one today or exchange it for one of the Samsungs

Love Sony Brand - HATE this TV!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Sony TV Brand. Had several different models with no problems, but this is by far the worst TV we have ever had. Picked it up yesterday and returning it today. Talked with Sony "expert" at Best Buy before purchasing. Was assured that all the problems written in the reviews were simply due to not running the software update before trying to use it. We ran the update and all the problems mentioned were true!!! No NETFLIX, picture extremely dark even with the brightness set at max!! Worst waste of money ever!!! So sad as Sony has always been our "go-to" brand for high quality.

Posted .Hello SonyFan, thank you for your message. The first Android TVs that were manufactured this year did come with the Netflix app from factory. The app was removed with the update since it is still under development to support 4K content. .The Internet apps of the Android™ TV will be available in the upcoming update. The list of available applications will be updated automatically once your device is connected to the Internet. -Oscar.

They won't warn you about this.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV requires an extremely fast internet speed in order to make use of the 4K feature. Especially with regard to 4K content purchased from Netflix. No one at Best Buy informed me of this. Prior to purchasing this TV be sure you have the internet speed to make it run 4K content. Otherwise you will be wasting your money on purchasing the upgrade to an alleged 4K capable TV.

Good TV. AWFUL service.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Sony TV arrived with the glass broken and was immediately returned. That was back in January. After a couple weeks, and a number of calls, I did get a replacement TV. However, it's now April and I still have charges for TWO TVs on my bank statement and can't get rid of the original charge. Each time I follow-up, I'm on the phone for at least 30 minutes, and often closer to an hour. Each time I repeat the EXACT same details. Sometimes I even get to talk to 'a special agent from the back office'. All the service people on the phone seem very nice, but the Geek Squad organization seems unable to execute a simple return. I feel like I'm in the movie, Ground Hog Day. And I know Best Buy is making it much too difficult to get back my $980.

Bad tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv last Oct.('15) from Best Buy. The tv remote is not compatible with the Verizon FIOs remote and after speaking with Sony and doing my own research there is not available a remote that can control both this tv and Verizon cable service. The Sony remote will only turn tv on but not cable box or change channels. So I'm stuck with using 2 remotes. Since I've had the tv there have been updates about every 6 weeks or so. The update takes 1/2 hour when tv can't be used.As far as I can see the updates are for adding paid apps. Last Friday I did an update and it removed my Amazon Prime app. I then added the Amazon app back (the tv warns that "some of your settings may be changed during updates) and it does not work. I have several Roku's on other TVs and the Amazon app works on all so the problem isn't my wifi or Amazon - it's this Sony TV. Over the past several months when I check the TV after it's been off overnight the light on the bottom of the TV is on and I then press the "ON" button the TV comes on but there is no sound. I then pull the plug, wait 30 seconds, then plug in and all controls return to normal. BTW, a month after I bought this Sony TV I bought a Samsung 23" smart tv and that works great - no shutdown for updates; Amazon prime app works; and its remote is compatible with the Verizon FIOS remote so I only need one remote to control TV and cable box. I've bought Sony TVs in the past because of their quality but this is the worst yet.

Brightness Lacking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV along with a 24" Samsung TV. The Sony lacks the clarity, sharpness and white brightness compare to the Samsung. This my not be a fair comparison due to the size difference. I have also experienced drop out of the internet connection with the Sony, requiring me to re- enter my internet PW. Also, cannot make the connection to HBO GO due to the lack of agreement with Comcast. Overall, I wish I had gone with another Samsung.
