Very very unsharp. I'm not a pixel peeper, but even with a slight crop the quality is not good at all. Unusable.

This lens is so heavy and extends out so far that it tipped me over the first time I used it! Zoom's well, though... but it's too heavy and awkward to use.

Zooming in is ok, but zooming out I do not get the result that I'm looking for, for my shots.

I've owned this lens for about 2 months and love it. It's sharp, has good contrast and color. I wish I had bought it earlier! This is a great companion lens to the 18-55mm kit lens that is typically packaged with the Nex system. The extra focal length is immensely useful for shooting outdoors, but also indoors where you are force to be further away from the subject (e.g. gymnastics class, volleyball game, etc). It's also great for portraits, where you can get further away physically and zoom in for more flattering perspective of faces (and good blur of backgrounds, too). The extra physical size of this lens as compared to the 18-55mm kit lens is noticeable but not a problem for me or for my wife. The lens feels solid, the built quality is good, but at the same time it's quite light for it's size. It hunts a bit for auto-focus in low-light when zoomed all the way to 210mm, but I would think that most lenses of this type would do the same. I just zoom back out a bit (which allows a lower f-stop) and then crop the photo down later in post. This lens is also a bit prone to flaring in bright sunlight, even with lens hood attached, but not the majority of the time by any means.

I bought this for my NEX7 primarily to shoot fast moving subjects such as my dogs and grand kids. Subjects not at all well suited to using the manual focus lenses I have adapted for the NEX. As an outdoor lens it's awesome. autofocus is good but not great. image quality is surprisingly good. Contrast and color are very good. Excellent value.

I'm a novice and i bought this lens in addition to my standard lens that came on my a6000. I bought it for the zoom mainly since the stock lens doesn't offer much of a zoom. The lens is crafted beautifully and matches up perfect to my silver a6000. The picture i took looked pretty good and my only gripe was that it's somewhat big (for me) and i kept knocking it into things even when on my carry strap, this is my own fault of course but this lense makes the cam significantly larger for sure. I would recommend this ad a welcome addition to the a6000 camera.

The only way to be able to explore the potential of any of the NEX cameras is by adding this lens it gives you the range that makes this type of camera a better product than a point and shoot. The quality is solid and it looks great. BTW it comes in solid black or this silver model. The zoom makes all the difference in the world, you can be in the back of the room and get great shots. BB will price match, so do your research before you pay full price for it. So get it and enjoy another dimension of your camera.

Fairly light weight telephoto. Excellent picture with motion stabilzer in the camara.

Great for getting detail in architecture took great photos on my vacation to Paris. It was a no brainer for the cost in the bundle package that Best Buy often offers with DSLRs. I believe I saved nearly $150 on the lens and much cheaper than buying the one lens that replaces the freebee that comes with the camera and this one being reviewed.

This lens has really impressed me with its image and build quality. It produces wonderful images and movies when paired with my NEX-7.

Achieves what I wanted, especially for the money. Compare it to other lens on the market, it does a decent job on telephoto shots. Focus is fast and quiet and the video taking works very nice.

Love the zoom lens! Can get much closer. I am, however, having trouble taking super close pics like macro close with the zoom but this could be lack of experience with using the zoom lens. All in all I absolutely love it over my old Nikon D40!

The lens has fantastic image quality for something so small. The only strange thing is that it needs to manually be zoomed in or out before the auto zoom engages. It took me 3 days to realize this as it isn't mentioned in the directions.

This Sony Nex lens is one of the lenses I purchased for my Sony Nex 5RK. I'm glad I purchased it because it has great steady shot stabilizer and its a hefty lens meaning it a solid and durable lens.

The lens is easy to connect to the camera and adds great quality to the photos.

This is the best budget telephoto lens i've ever used! With that being said I finally saved up to buy the 70-350mm G series so I sold off this lens. What I can tell you is that for social media you probably can't tell the difference between the two lens (Instagram compresses images) and with images that small you wont be able to tell the difference. If you learn to shoot Raw and learn how to edit photos then both lens are pretty much the same to the average viewer!

I have owned the Sony NEX 3 for a while now and LOVE the camera. I needed a longer lens and was not disappointed at all! I have mostly used this to take pictures of my kids skiing behind the boat and for family vacations. It has been fabulous. Super easy to use and lightning fast to change out your lenses to get your shot. If you are thinking about it, do it!

So crispy photos and videos. The zoom still quality results. Im glad i bought this lens as a beginner.
