I bought this lens when I bought my new A6000 for a european family vacation. It works very well, it does not add a ton of extra weight. I found the photos to look great when using the lens except when i maxed out the zoom, which is to be expected ( i would think), but again, i'm not a pro. Very happy with the purchase regardless and i was extremely happy to have this lens on my trip.

Posted .Hi PreferAnon, Good to hear that you love the camera. It is possible that the camera will activate digital zoom if you max the zoom scale of the camera. It is normal because the camera is somehow digitally enhancing the images to give a larger representation. -Zander

Great kit lens

I use this lens to record church service and sit near the back of church and it zooms in close and objects/subject is clear and makes it a lot easier than using the standard lens. I compile this video onto a DVD for TV broadcast twice a month.

This lens takes my Sony Alpha 6000 into another realm of photography that is not possible with the standard non zoom lens.

For action shots in low light a faster lens is needed. Would recommend as a first low cost zoom lens.

Takes great pictures for beginner

Best buy offers a discounted package when you purchase together. I love the picture quality when I use with my Sony alpha 5000.

The lens is a great workhorse and works well with my Sony A6000. I took the camera to the Air & Space Museum and got some exceptional close-up shots that were in good focus.
