Disappointed in the life of this Sony 55-210mm e mount lens product, it failed and broke inside, making a loud clacking noise that would not stop until I turned the camera off, sounded like a gear problem for the autofocus components. It was an inexpensive lens realtive to the cost of the others available but I expected better from Sony Brand products.

I got this item as an open box. Overlooked that it was for apsc. I own a full frame. Returned it within 10 days and got charged 40$ as a restocking fee. Are you serious Best Buy. I would make my purchases from B&H in future.

I was getting blurry Images,I had associates check it out they agreed.i did my own research on Sony website same complaints about lens had to return it,it sucks would of want a lens for my new camera, for better performance.i guess I'll try a different lens in the future.

Dont buy this lens save yur money for something better. This is super fuzzy and if you don't take far outside pictures then this is not a need to begin with.

Great lens, completes my kit for my NEX-5. I originally purchased the 16mm and the 18-55mm lens. I wanted something with a longer zoom range, but couldn't swallow the $800 price tag for the 18-200mm. I'm glad I waited for the 55 - 210mm. This is a great lens, light weight, but sturdy. Feels good in your hand, well balanced on the camera. Steady Shot works well great pictures hand held or on a tripod.

Very very unsharp. I'm not a pixel peeper, but even with a slight crop the quality is not good at all. Unusable.

I guess this lens was not for me. It wasn’t as sharp and I just this it was a little too cheap, no wonder it was on sale

Zooming in is ok, but zooming out I do not get the result that I'm looking for, for my shots.

I've owned this lens for about 2 months and love it. It's sharp, has good contrast and color. I wish I had bought it earlier! This is a great companion lens to the 18-55mm kit lens that is typically packaged with the Nex system. The extra focal length is immensely useful for shooting outdoors, but also indoors where you are force to be further away from the subject (e.g. gymnastics class, volleyball game, etc). It's also great for portraits, where you can get further away physically and zoom in for more flattering perspective of faces (and good blur of backgrounds, too). The extra physical size of this lens as compared to the 18-55mm kit lens is noticeable but not a problem for me or for my wife. The lens feels solid, the built quality is good, but at the same time it's quite light for it's size. It hunts a bit for auto-focus in low-light when zoomed all the way to 210mm, but I would think that most lenses of this type would do the same. I just zoom back out a bit (which allows a lower f-stop) and then crop the photo down later in post. This lens is also a bit prone to flaring in bright sunlight, even with lens hood attached, but not the majority of the time by any means.

This is the best budget telephoto lens i've ever used! With that being said I finally saved up to buy the 70-350mm G series so I sold off this lens. What I can tell you is that for social media you probably can't tell the difference between the two lens (Instagram compresses images) and with images that small you wont be able to tell the difference. If you learn to shoot Raw and learn how to edit photos then both lens are pretty much the same to the average viewer!

I bought this for my NEX7 primarily to shoot fast moving subjects such as my dogs and grand kids. Subjects not at all well suited to using the manual focus lenses I have adapted for the NEX. As an outdoor lens it's awesome. autofocus is good but not great. image quality is surprisingly good. Contrast and color are very good. Excellent value.

This lens takes excellent pictures and is a great addition to the Sony a5000 camera. You are able to zoom a lot further with this lens than the standard one included with the camera. I recommend getting this lens.

it took amazing picture on my trip to Brazil and the amazon. lightweight and takes up little room. Great pictures!

I'm a novice and i bought this lens in addition to my standard lens that came on my a6000. I bought it for the zoom mainly since the stock lens doesn't offer much of a zoom. The lens is crafted beautifully and matches up perfect to my silver a6000. The picture i took looked pretty good and my only gripe was that it's somewhat big (for me) and i kept knocking it into things even when on my carry strap, this is my own fault of course but this lense makes the cam significantly larger for sure. I would recommend this ad a welcome addition to the a6000 camera.

The only way to be able to explore the potential of any of the NEX cameras is by adding this lens it gives you the range that makes this type of camera a better product than a point and shoot. The quality is solid and it looks great. BTW it comes in solid black or this silver model. The zoom makes all the difference in the world, you can be in the back of the room and get great shots. BB will price match, so do your research before you pay full price for it. So get it and enjoy another dimension of your camera.

The lens is easy to connect to the camera and adds great quality to the photos.

Not too heavy and good size for the range.... takes great photos at full length and shots were clear even without a tripod.

Fairly light weight telephoto. Excellent picture with motion stabilzer in the camara.
