Picture looks like my 10 year old LCD

The picture left me wanting. It looked no different than my 10 year old samsung LCD. Very washed out. I took it back and got a Samsung 4k and it was what I was expecting. Blew the Sony away.

I will call Sony and BB after I get back from vacation on 1/15/17. Read reviews and this is an on going complaint but I bought TV anyway. I really like TV but I am disappointed at this time.

disappointing

One of the biggest problems was the light blooming effect that shows during dark scenes while watching at night. This is an edge lit panel and when you watch in a dark room it becomes very visable during dark scenes. I also had a problem with TV disconnecting from the wifi. I would have to do a hard reset every time for it to reconnect to wifi, after the about the 5th day in a row dealing with this and the light blooming I gave up. Not all is bad though, I did buy this for my xbox one and in game mode the input lag is very slight. For gaming this is a good TV but for night time movie watching you be disappointed.

WAY Too Many Problems

It couldn't find a contrast it liked and would bounce between dark grey and lighter grey. I finally got over that but wasn't happy. Next it started rebooting itself frequently (sometimes 3 or 4 times a night). Then it starting shutting off altogether. A technician replaced the motherboard and that fixed the reboot problem. Now the audio output to my receiver cuts in and out. I've had to switch to TV speakers until I can get it fixed....again. I bought this TV at the same time I bought a Vizio for my kids (for a LOT lower price). The Vizio is far better in all regards.

When there's a dark scene in source its always cloudy. Too many features and no documentation at all. Should have bought a Samsung!

Only good for watching in a lit up room

Ended up returning it, because it was basically unwatchable at night!

Best HDR 4K of 2016
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I passed on buying the 55x900C because of the light bleed now having a tv as thin as this or the 900c you will experience light bleed because of the thinness now this tv has no light bleed at all 1080p content blu Ray movies look so good Netflix in 4K is amazing this tv look good on vivid but calabrate it will make it look even better you have to get the Samsung 4K blu Ray player to enjoy the HDR setting on the tv which it's worth the buy if you are scared of what people ar saying about light bleed just gets bestbuy geek squad protection 2 or 5 years will cover that they come to you be having you mail the tv to Sony it's worth it 5 starts for this sexy beast

Not worth the money

Terrible blacks

Unhappy

Helpful BBY Staff and Excellent 5 Star Sony TV

We have lots of windows in our home and the sale person working at Best Buy told us not to buy the bent Samsung Curve TVs. He was 100% correct. He told us about this Sony 55x850d and its color, viewing angle and lack of glare really impressed both of us. We use it for sports and Netflix and Amazon movies. After having it for a week we couldn't be happier. The motion looks fantastic. Very realistic. That is the only way I can describe it. The TV is thin, looks incredible, and seems to do a FAR better job with streaming content than our neighbors brand new Samsung TV. The Best Buy sales person says this has a Sony X1 processor designed for streaming content (Samsung doesn't have this processor in their TVs). Netflix recommends Sony TVs themselves we later found out. Makes sense to us. We love this TV so much we are waiting for our tax returns to purchase the larger 65 inch version for our living room and this 55 inch x850d will go in our bedroom. Don't waste your time.

The first thing you notice once you power this TV on is the horrible light bleeding on the edges of this TV. I returned this TV for the Samsung KS8000 and I'm glad I did, because the overall picture quality doesn't even come close.

Horrible picture for a dark media room

Had to return

After having this tv for a year or so, it started getting white faded vertical lines. Got progressively worse so I was under warranty and got a newer Sony model. The new Sony model I received is worse. What a waste of money! Sony quality is garbage. I want my money back.
