This tv still looks good in 2020 with my ps5 and tv still getting updates. It now has the same layout as my new x800h model love both.

up graded my old Sony KDL 52xbr9 what a difference between night & day, many nice features this tv has & picture is spot on sharp, very pleased, recommend to anyone looking to buy a new tv.

I bought this TV because I wanted the latest in built in streaming. But other issues show progress needs to be made. Overall, it is just a TV. I'm not that impressed with the picture. It is decent. But here we go on the problems. I'll start with the remote which is terrible. 1. There is no menu button. First time in 25 years that I've bought a TV that does not have a menu button on the remote. Weird. 2. The remote has no backlighting. Ordinarily, this would not be a problem if the remote had some tactile feel so you could figure out what buttons you are on. but the remote is EXTREMELY hard to navigate in a dark room 3. The main reason you need backlighting on the remote is that there is no tactile feel to the buttons. I can learn a remote if I can feel where the buttons are. You cannot distinguish the difference between a "button" and the small bumps they placed on the remote to "guide" you around. The problem is that the buttons and the bumps are the same size So you have no idea where you are on the remote. To use this remote in a dark room, you will need a flashlight to look at it to see what you are doing. Since this TV is in our bedroom, that is problematic. An annoying issue for me is that the TV is installed in our bedroom. When one of us is sleeping rely on closed captioning to keep the volume down. It appears that the TV relies on onboard CC when streaming as opposed to CC through the cable box when not streaming. When streaming, the entire TV "lights up" and changes contrast every time the CC comes on. Really annoying on dark scenes and destroys the contrast. Plus it's like someone keeps turning a light on and off in the room. It's nice to have android apps on the TV. However not all android apps work. So don't assume that if you have the app on your phone or a tablet, the app will work on this TV. One app in particular, I thought was not even installed, but while watching regular TV, an error message kept popping up that the app was malfunctioning. It took awhile to figure out how to uninstall the app. So far, after one day, the message has not returned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this solved the problem. But I am reluctant to reinstall the app, which is from one of the major cable channels. I like the fact that you don't need one of the many available external devices that allow streaming. But if they are going down the road to allow android apps to run on a TV in place of all the external devices: 1) ALL the apps should work and 2) There should be adequate memory to install the apps. If you have a lot of apps, beware that memory on the TV is limited. You may have to add a specially formatted USB drive to "off load" apps that won't fit. I suppose that I will "recommend" this product to a friend only because some of these issues, other than the remote, can probably be fixed with a software update and the lack of memory has a "fix" by adding an external USB memory.

This TV is great! Picture is great and the Smart Apps are easy to use. YouTube, Netflix, and a bunch of other apps have 4k streaming. So there's a lot of content.

I took my time and did some research before purchasing this tv. I know 4K is still new to people and some of the tec is hard to understand. This 55" Sony 4k with HDR is just right for the money. HDR really makes the difference. If you have a sony playstation and receiver they work seamlessly together. 4k media is slowly coming out. Netflix,youtube and amazon all have programing in 4k.Smart tv works really nice. The only thing that I wasn't impressed with was the remote.

Best 55 inche TV with high quality and sound I love it

I've been loyal to the Sony brand for years, and this model did not disappoint. The picture is awesome! It's been great for gaming and watching sports.

Colors and picture quality are amazing on this TV set. My only gripe with this TV would be some backlight bleed from the corners/edges of the TV. Great buy though; got it on sale.

I love the sleek design and fantastic display with powerful functions. The only thing I regret is that I should buy it earlier.

Based on reviews and my research I decided to buy this TV. Sony definitely came through with this 4K TV. Truly recommend it.

This television has great picture and sound, with Sony's 4k HDR technology you feel as if you are living the movie.

This TV reminds me of what Sony is capable of doing as in their Hay days.The light sensing feature works a lot better than in previous models. Configuration of the picture settings is wide open and up to your own taste, weather you like it cool or xtreme warm, black levels and contrast are awesome my next step is to now get me a 4K pass through audio receiver to handle my 7.1 surround sound- and component switching.- I give this TV 5 stars- go Sony.

This TV is absolutely the best TV we've ever owned, I don't see how a better quality picture is possible!

I usually only purchase Vizio tv's so this is my first Sony and I LOVE it the picture quality is amazing.

which port (1,2,3,4) should i connect the HDMI cable into - it comes from my Optimum cable box? i tried putting my bluray player in port #2 and it did not work but it worked in port #3. do i need a special wire to get the 4k ultra? i tried setting it to enhanced but got no sound. was told to buy a audio wire but is an optimum box even capable of 4k ultra? should i also connect my cable wire (it is spit in 2) directly into the set? can the tv remote control my optimum cable box? Ias you can see i am a little confused.THANKS

Excellent picture. Set does a great job converting non 4K content. Very happy with purchase!

I have no idea why anyone would rate this TV 4 or 5 stars!!. i have had this TV for two weeks now.. and trying to tweak the picture... but it is hopeless The bad: Picture is horrible when connected to cable box.. Or any non 4k source. The upscaling makes the picture soft /blurry. The contrast is Bad.. . Really bad.. The blacks look gray and almost no details in dark scenes. Light bleed is Also really bad.. You will. Instantly notice this when you turn on the tv The remote control is cheap watching tv in anything but a bright room is unacceptable The good: Android OS is nice The TV handles motion very well TV speaker is nice enough TV is light and skinny. Conclusion : Buy if you mainly watch during day time and prepared to be disappointed. When you watch cable TV (which is where 95% of content exists) the picture is soft and blurry or grainy when you bring up sharpness in picture settings. My Conclusion is that 4k is a Marketing gimmick, at 6 feet away it Doesn't matter. My 5 year old. 720p Plasma Samsung has a far far far superior picture. I can't put into Words how much of a Disappointment this TV is. Makes me Wonder if all 4k TVs are horrible at upscaling 1080p content or just this one.

I gave up the idea of buying the samsung ks 8000 as it had a defective back panel even though it costed less than this Sony through my company's reward program. This great 120 HZ TV is awesome with zero defect. Android is an added advantage and the sync functionalities are very easy to use. Only negative is that it does not give the bass that you may like to hear on such a high quality TV.
