Great TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all let me say that I start months before I am going to purchase a TV to review them before I purchase one. Some of the websites I use include Reviewed.com, and Rtings.com (which is great!). Rtings has not only their views, but also calibration settings you can use to calibrate the TV if you choose (http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x810c). My decision had came down to this, I am a gamer and movie watcher and the decision came to the 810c or the xbr55x850c, but the 850c has something called "3D crosstalk" which Sony has not yet fixed to my knowledge. This TV was about $200 cheaper when I purchased (end of 2/16) and was a GREAT choice! Games look great as well as movies! The sound I didn't care too much about because I use a surround sound system, but the TV sound is still good. The "upscale' feature is pretty sweet as well. If you are a gamer/movie watcher/sports or even just regular TV, this a GREAT option! Hope that helps someone.

Awesome TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV after returning a Sharp Roku TV I bought the night before. The picture is crystal clear, you definitely won't see any pixels if an object is moving across the screen. Watching a Blu Ray movie on it definitely convinced me that I made the right decision. Make sure you upgrade to the higher level HDMI cords, and don't get the cheaper ones. If you're going spend $1000, you might as well spend a few more bucks to ensure your going to get a great picture. No regrets!!!

A Great Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Time to switch out the 42" Sony Plasma - had a lot of miles on it and was starting to go. Looked and compare for at least 6 mos before settling on this TV - and it turned out to be a great choice. Got rid of an Onkyo surround system and replaced it with a Sony 2.1 sound bar. WOW! Really loving the combination, the picture and sound are fantastic. Not a Smart phone, Smart TV person, but has all the necessary connections and options if you are so inclined. Sony is still the way to go!

Awesome TV for cord cutters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a beautiful picture. Has the android tv system loaded into it which is similar to other smart tv boxes (Apple TV, fire tv, etc.). Has enough apps to make me want to become a cord cutter. Has antenna connection, many of the popular apps also. Kodi can be installed directly onto the tv with no hassle. An awesome tv that should be a prime candidate for someone wanting to cut the cord! Only downfall is android tv can be a bit buggy at times but still a decent experience.

Best decision I ever made.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has surpassed my expectations. The sound is better than expected from some of the reviews read prior to the purchase. The picture is exceptional. I have watched a variety of media and I was not disappointed with the the picture quality whatsoever. The Android operating system allows for instant review of pictures and other items from my smart phone. Sony has never disappointed me in any of the previous Bravia's I have purchased and again have not let me down.

Easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV have a lot of function and apps pairs well with my X1 box picture quality is great some minor tweaks are a must switching the TV from 720 to 1080p is a must. Also going on the internet to learn how to calibrate the TV something you might want to look into. Putting the stand together can be a little tricky could be better direction on this some people have major problem with it and it don,t have to be that way that something Sony can fix other than that GREAT TV.

Best 4K Video for the $ Best Upscaling 4K Engine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best 4K UDTV in it's price class. I bought on special for $899, The Android-TV is terrific and much better and faster than most smart TV interfaces. Go to your YouTube account with a push of a button, start watching great 4K video in a flash. Has 4 of the latest tech HDMI ports and 3 USB ports, which is a great for expansion. Has both wired Ethernet as well as WiFi. Wired is the only way to go as it's much more reliable and this TV is set to update not only the TV software, but all the Android-TV accounts as well while on stand-by, so it uses the network even when the TV is off. The video engine in this TV is great, has many viewing settings for games, sports, animation and many others. The SONY up-scaling engine is the best in the business and is a pleasure to watch. This UDTV doesn't have the full HDR capability that will be in the new UDTV DVD Players, so keep that in mind. If want the full HDR capability in a SONY or a Samsung, prepare to crack open your wallet to pay almost double the price for a 55" UDTV. The only downside of this TV is the audio, it's more than acceptable, but if your an audiophile, you will want to get at minimum, a soundbar. The good news is that this TV has both optical and audio passthrough HDMI ports. The reason to buy a 4K UHTV is for the video and it's clear that SONY focused on video quality with this TV. 3 important notes, *It's very important to do the software update prior to actually using the TV. It is a big one, so wire up the TV to your router before you turn it on. **The TV software can't decode many types of video files you may want to watch via a USB memory stick, just download VLC player through Android-TV and it can run virtually any audio or video file. *** The 65” version of the X810C is different from the 55” version, using an IPS panel instead of VA. This means it has the aforementioned wider viewing angle, but will also have significantly poorer blacks. If you sit directly opposite your TV, this won’t be a worthwhile choice. Overall a great 4K TV for the money and a great visual experience. The audio quality is it's only downfall, but easily upgraded.

Great TV for price and good GeekSquad experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV based on seeing great picture in store; staff recommended sound bar, so bought that too. All was wall mounted by GeekSquad, which did a great job-- especially since had to come out again (no additional charge) when DirecTV sound suddenly stopped working (Problem with enhanced vs regular setting on HDMI port.) Glad I bought this from a store which supports their products. Also had smooth experience with BestBuy Price Match guarantee...

Great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great pic right out of the box. I was worried, lots of reviews mentioned picture/color adjustments were needed, but I didn't need to. Easy set up. Works great with Xbox and sports on tv. No judder or trailing. So far so good. Happy with purchase. Best Buy salesman said the next step up (850) was better for gaming I see no problems with this set. Saved $400.00

First 4K...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was planning on LG, since my other 2 55" were LG. However, the reviews at www.rtings.com indicated that this was better than LG (except OLED) and the 850C. Not disappointed, but still trying to tweak my calibration to makes sure that people don't look greenish. I think I'm there. Otherwise, the smart TV features and 4k (NETFLIX ) look and work well.

Exceptional TV Viewing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a retiree in my 60's who has always watched tv regularly for sports, movies, Netflix and other weekly network programing. I have an 8 year old 60 inch SONY XBR TV which I love in my home in Canada. In winter 2016, I was in the market for a new tv for my vacation home in SW Florida. After much research on-line and after speaking with multiple associates at several stores, I chose the Sony 55" 4K TV. I am extremely satisfied with my choice. The Sony 55 was easy to set up out of the box and it looks and sounds great, particularly after being connected to my Sony sound system. The picture quality is absolutely fantastic. Watching sports and movies is like being there. I expect that viewing will only get better over time as more programs move to 4K streaming. When the time comes to replace the 60 older model back north in Canada, I will surely be looking at a SONY 4K model again. I can only hope that I get a sale price again like I did on the Sony 55!
