It wasn't cable or any of the inputs - there was just no sound! Turning the TV off and on did not corre t the problem. I had to unplug the TV, wait approx. 30 secs and reboot the TV. The sound came back. My analysis was that there was a problem with the sound module. Luckily, it reset this time with a total loss of power. I don't know if it is a design defect at this point or just an anomaly.
