Superb TV

Before setting calibration, the picture quality is already amazing and the sound quality without a soundbar is better than other TVs (soundbar still 100% recommended however). It runs video games beautifully and the only complaint in that department is only 2 HDMI inputs being 2.1 rather than all 4 being 2.1 compatible. Other than that I have no real complaints with the TV and am more than satisfied with my purchase.

Picture quality is amazing sound is great. Easy setup. I can connect AirPods, Beat headphones & I can hear it on there while everyone else hears it on the tv! You can set up volume control for both AirPods & speaker. Has other features I have not yet ventured into!

Absolutely amazing picture

This TV is fantastic. It is the first TV that I've purchased in my life where the picture has been perfect out of the box. No need to tweak for this and that.. its just ready to go and looks great doing it. I've tried LG, Samsung and even Panasonic this year and this TV just has something the others don't.. extreme clarity. The picture is just clean, no noise, no extra image grain.. just nice and sharp, bright and full of color. True it is the dimmer of the 4 Premium OLED TVs this year but you wouldn't know it. It handles dark scenes with aplomb and bright scenes can sear your eyeballs. Game mode is also great. No dimming, super colorful and punchy. True it only has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports but the internet will tell you that you HAVE to have 4. Not everyone does.. unless you have an Xbox Series AND a PlayStation 5. Switch 2 can use one of the 2.0 ports without any issue. Give this TV a try.. you won't send it back.

That said getting use to an OLED and the vibrant colors has been difficult sometimes. Really made me see how old my old TV was and the color difference.

An amazing TV that will last

The qd-oled Bravia 8 mk ii 55" out of the box looked amazing. The Google TV OS replaced my external Google TV box. Playing the PS5 on tv looked amazing and was calibrated automatically. The IMAX and netflix calibration setting is a nice feature. Overall a nice tv. The Sony tax you pay for the TV seems worth it for those that are heavy movie watchers and or want the best TV on the market but there is a few caveats when compared to the competition. The reason for the score being 1 less off. The TV only has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports which means you will need to disconnect or buy additional equipment if you need more. You lose a few premium items offered from their previous OLED TV that they offered like the camera and remote with backlight.

One downfall is I am not able to access imax features because of my location it won’t load you have to be in town on a high speed internet for it to work. This tv was very easy to set up well worth it!

Color and brightness is solid in a bright room, despite windows in this room facing west. Setup is easy, app is nice but not exactly necessary. Tons of features I haven't even explored yet. Shows like The Expanse look amazing when the room is dark. Also- got it on sale, then it went on bigger sale for an additional $500 off- went into the store and they matched price, refunding me the $500. Good customer service experience, good tv.

We have this tv and a Bravia 9. I gotta tell ya, this picture looks better. Too bad they didn't make this tv in an 85 or 98 inch size.
