Bad Power Supply
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this and within a few days, would blink out, light up and then go dark and then finally would not turn on. I assumed it was the power supply, which is external to the TV. Its got an AC to DV converter brick, like what you get with a laptop. Anyway, I ordered a replacement power supply on ebay (for $78 bucks!). Why didnt i return to Best Buy? I threw away the box and didnt want to fight the crowds or BB cust service. Its also twice the weight of my LG 1080 TV for some reason. So, got the new power supply and worked like a charm. Love the TV. Love the picture. Love the upscaling of 1080 recordings. Its a great TV. Word to the wis(er) than me, keep your box and go for the 900f as its a 2018 model unlike the 930e which is a 2017 model. Maybe the power supply issue wont be an issue for you.

Great Gaming Settings for motionflow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Against common knowledge stay away from game mode. If you want to take advantage of the TV's motionflow capabilities while not only keeping but improving the stunning 4k detail and HDR contrast. All while not having an unplayable input lag just use the Standard mode for gaming. If your playing FPS competitive then use game mode for the least input lag. Try my settings and you won't be disappointed. I hardly notice latency issues and I am sensitive to them. Unfortunately game mode is limited in it's motion options. Picture mode: Standard Brightness: 10-20 (preference) Color: 60 Light sensor: off Contrast: 80 Gamma: -2 Black level: 50 Black adjust: off or low Advanced Contrast Enhancer: low Auto local Dimming: Low X-tended Dynamic Range: High Hue: 0. Color Temp: Neutral Advanced color temp: bright red, -4 (preference) Live Color: High Sharpness: 63 Reality Creation: Auto Random Noise Reduction: Off Digital Noise Reduction: Off Smooth Gradation: Off MOTION FLOW: STANDARD or SMOOTH, but smooth can cause some artifacts or judder around objects at fast speeds. STANDARD seems to be perfect. The background objects are flawless when you move. CineMotion: High Video Options: All set to AUTO These settings have given me the most amazing gaming experience I have ever had. A.C. origins and Wolfenstien ll was incredible. I should note I am running the new OneX with this set. Make sure to put the HDMI cord into port 2. Also go into the TV settings and then external inputs, then HDMI signal format and set it to Enhancer Format do this in order to get the full 4k HDR out of the signal of HDMI ports 2&3. Also in your console settings be sure to go to the settings, Then display and sound, then video output, make sure your Tv resolution is set to 4K and video fidelity is set to 10-(bit), because the 930E is capable of this. This should give you the best picture possible with the least motion blur you have ever experienced. Better than my plasma. I am unsure of the input latency difference but it is negligible. Considering how much of a difference you will experience in picture quality and motion processing it will be well worth it to get off Game mode.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture, worth the money. My wife says the picture looks too real, I think that is a good thing. I have only two complaints that maybe can be fixed with a S/W update. One, the light sensor setting does not work right. The TV picture will either be to dark or to light, and sometimes it will change even when the ambient lighting hasn’t changed. I have turned off the light sensor setting and the TV works fine. Another problem I have with the TV is the streaming video and Netflix. While watching Netflix the TV DISPLAY shows a net speed of only about 11.50 Mbps and Netflix speed test shows the same. My PC On the same network has a down load speed of 38.Mbps and I have DVD player that I can watch Netflix at 25.Mbps. I have gone to Sony’s web site, and have tried all recommended fixes, changed the DNS setting, Ethernet and wireless, and the only thing I have on the network was the TV. None of these thing have fixed the problem. All in all I still think this is a great product.

Beautiful TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was stuck between this tv and the 900e and finally settled on this because the 4K gaming on this tv is about 10ms less then the 900e. Also the display worked wonders with my problematic living room window layout that shines directly on the tv during the day. This tv is super bright and brings detail to pictures that the 900 didn’t at times.

Best tv for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv online from Best Buy about a month ago. An upgrade from my Samsung mu6300 model. Night and day difference from that tv. The 6300 is not bad for a budget tv tho. Very pleased with the performance of the 930e. The colors pop and the blacks are very good showing good details that are not crushed out like some tvs. No worries about burn ins like oleds. This model is closing out soon so if you want a great tv at a good price, now is the time to buy it. I would certainly buy again.

Beautiful Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just had my 55" 930E delivered, setup and hung by the Geek Squad. They did a nice job on installing very professional. The picture quality in absolutely amazing. I'm coming from a 55" Samsung that's 9 years old. Difference is night and day. This TV is in a very bright family room with a lot of windows and I'm not getting any glare. I'm very pleased with everything now. I have a BoseSound Bar that I'm not sure I'm even going to connect it because so far I don't have any problems with the sound from the speakers. It looks great hanging on the wall. One thing I will add somewhere I read a question posed about if this TV had an adapter brick. Three people responded and said no it didn't have one. I'm here to tell you this TV DOES have an external power adapter (brick). They just zip tied it to the back of the set. I will probably be relocating the adapter because its placement does interfere with the TV being able to tilt it downward as much as it should. This is due to my cables and power supply come out from behind the wall near where the adapter happens to be. Should be an easy fix to find somewhere else to zip tie the adapter to the back of the set. So far I have 0 complaints.

I would keep shopping
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Picture looks good in a bright room, easy to set up and get working . Cons: Terrible user interface in my opinion. To many useless apps that I will never use and cant delete, It wont let me organize my the apps I do use so I don't have to search for them and I'm constantly having to either reboot or cancel out of my because of errors. And as of lately its been playing adds as soon as I turn the TV on.

Great for Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is worth the price. I debated between this and the x900e and I'm glad I spent the extra money. The picture quality is unbelievable; I can see details and textures on clothing. I've been using the TV for gaming and highly recommend not only because of the detail, but also because of motion flow 960 . I was gaming on a Sony TV with motion flow 240, and it doesn't compare with the motion flow 960.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After researching 4k TV's decided that this one matches my criteria for the purchase made on 2/3/2018. It was purchased online and shipment was coordinated through the local store. The good: Relatively easy setup. It is mandatory to watch the unboxing and setup video if you are doing it on your own before you even open the box! TV setup was easy and also the smart TV setup menu was excellent. TV has a great picture and the cable routing on back is sleek. The audio quality is okay, did hook up to my stereo so use that for movies etc. The bad: After 14 days of ownership I was viewing a 4k youtube video and thought the camera on the video had some type of matter on the lense in a scene with light blue sky. When the scene changed it was still there! Immediately opened up another video and the problem was with my screen. It had a greyish mark about 3/8" in size. The ugly: Since my 15 days for return ended the next day I kind of went into panic mode. Called the local store and the associate said I could return it. Didn't think of it initially but the TV would never fit in my car, so called back to see if they could pick it up (as they had delivered it). She told me no, they couldn't do that because I bought it online. Called the BB 888 number and was finally sent to a Geek Squad agent. Luckily she was helpful and was told I had the Elite status and had 30 days to return it. She scheduled a pick up and my only big sweat now is how to get it back into the box. Spoke to Sony and they said this was uncommon and that it was the pixels that went out more than likely (although it needed more testing allegedly). I chose not to get this replaced by Sony or BB and to return it for credit. It would have been sad to have this for a period of time after the year warranty ran out and have this happen. To spend another $400 for the Geek Squad protection for 3 years wasn't something I wanted to spend extra. 4k doesn't look so good if there is an area with the pixels going out. At any rate in closing once bitten twice shy.

Buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv for my living room as it came highly rated. Let me tell you a few things. I own a Samsung 4K 55 inch and loved it but this tv appeared to be a bsetter more advanced tv. If your planning to mount this on a wall swing arm mount think twice. For the weight of the tv the diameter of the mounting holes is tiny and I question the safety for use on a swing mount. This was an unopened box and one of the main stand based mount bolts was cross threaded into the hole, not a minor issue as it would not screw in completely. Once installed the picture quality is a mixed bag. Fixed frame images are crystal clear but moving images are sketchy at time with judder. I have Verizon Fios and have 1gig service and am using the best hdmi cables. The Samsung I was replacing had perfect images moving or still, not always the case with this tv. The menus are not as intuitive as the Samsung. Too many choices and adjustments required. I would recommend having someone helping you calibrate the settings. The Samsung out of the box had amazingly clear images with little to no adjustments not so with this tv. I rarely write negative reviews but if I could return this tv and get another Samsung I would. Sony makes good products but this tv is too complicated for settings and not good for swing arm mounts. The picture settings are too numerous and even with the best cable connections and 1080p service cable pictures suffer. Sorry but I will likely sell this second hand even at a loss to buy a new 55 Samsung. No two TVs are exactly alike and many seem to like this but it just doesn’t compare to the high end less expensive Samsung units. Not trying to dissuade you just tell you about my experience.

Streaming HDR is horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice looking TV, but honestly, there is nothing that great about it. The picture is good, but no better than on the 900e or a lot of lesser expensive model. Streaming any HDR content on Netflix or Amazon looks dark and grainy - just horrible. There is no Dolby Vision as advertised and the Android operating system just plain out stinks - it's slow and just frustrating. The X1 Extreme Processor had added nothing!

Poor Sony Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Television looks great, but had issues with streaming from Netflix, HBONOW, and Amazon video. I initially thought I had a network problem based on errors, but I have another Sony TV just like this one, model: 65XBR810C which has the same television platform version and app versions which can successfully play all streaming apps without issue. Not only that, no other devices have network problems in this house. Sony has advised the router is bad. I asked if it were to be replaced then what? The response "Your ISP would be the problem then". This is totally unacceptable! My new 930D can play some streaming apps such as YouTube, Hulu, and a few other streaming apps, however Sony considers this to only be a network issue and refuses to troubleshoot it further. If this were network it is likely nothing would stream. A quick google search will show this is a problem many others have had and no resolution. Sony was downright dismissive that this is working on a TV just like the one we are troubleshooting. If I were not a mid level enterprise network engineer the wool would be pulled over my eyes, however I am smarter than the average bear on this subject and these guys at Sony are not taking any responsibility. This TV is too expensive for that type of service. Stay away or buy a Roku to compliment your TVs native problems.

Should not be your first choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this Sony TV received very good reviews my experience was less than satisfactory. 1. Picture quality average at best. 2. The user interface is very busy and confusing. There is too much going on at once and moving from app to app is sluggish. 3. Although the sound quality on most new TV's isn't very good I found this Sony especially bad. 4. Google Assistant which I have high regard for and use daily on my mobile device is extremely slow in responding to commands. I returned this Sony X930E and replaced it with a Samsung 55" QLED which I love.

Beware: Died after 5 mo. & SONY cust svc awful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the 65" and the power supply board died after 5 months. They replaced it and it worked for 24 hrs. Then they wanted to send us a refurbished model "with minor cosmetic flaws" but we insisted on a new replacement. They agreed but only with the remaining warranty from the original TV. After 3 weeks the new television arrived but the screen was shattered on plugging in. Their customer service team is indifferent and tell you what you want to hear, but don't care. I would not recommend any Sony products and they have lost a customer for life across all of their product lines.
