I've only had the my new TV up and running for a couple of weeks, but so far have been very happy with the purchase. It has all the features and more that I need and want in a television. Picture is excellent and so is the sound quality. It was easy to install and setup. I like that you don't see all the cables and cords coming out the back side of the set

The image of this TV is fantastic. We have in a very lighted room with windows on both sides of the TV. The colors just pop. It is very easy to operate. The geek squad installed on the wall and seeing what was involved, I am so glad that they did. They took the time to install neatly and went through all setup and controls with the remote.

I purchased this for my parents, and they absolutely love it.
The ability to automically synchronize with other Sony items, including power and volume for a sound bar, is very nice and eliminates the confusion of using multiple remote controls. The picture is fantastic, as expected. Another nice touch is the removable panels in the back to help with cable management and keeping a very clean look - a detail that isn't appreciated until you are installing the set.
Looking forward to buying a set for myself in the near future.

Picture is the best I've seen, great colors. No operations manual with TV but has on line help, remote has really small buttons. Very difficult to learn all the buttons functions , there are so many things it can do!
Am enjoying it more every day.

Side-by-side compared this TV against the Sony and LG OLEDs and other 4K UHD Sony, LG and Samsung 55 inch LEDs. Tough choice between this one and the Sony OLED; until I moved off center axis and tested brightness of the picture in a well lit room. Ultimately, this TV was more fun to watch, the colors very deep with only some slight oversaturation of bright red and the blacks were virtually the same as the OLED with the OLED having only a very slight edge in shadows. The picture was very crisp with no hard edging and without edge smoothing. 4K sources are stunning on this TV and 1080p sources render an excellent picture. DVDs even look really crisp. The menu navigation tree is reasonably understandable and somewhat intuitive. Setting up and using apps is made more difficult than necessary because of Sony's insistence of injecting Google Play into the process. Bought a soundbar with the TV so I haven't heard the internal speakers. Despite its price, I think this TV is a great value simply because the picture is always stunningly accurate, crisp, colorful and just plain fun to watch.

Replaced my 10 year old Samsung Plasma with this Sony 930e. Can’t believe how much better the picture is in every way. We put 4K Nature Sows on and stare at it in disbelief. We have DirecTV Now and are blown away with how the tv upscales the signal. If you can find this tv at a store get it.

After a bad experience with an LG (non-oled) we decided to spend considerably more and go with this Sony. At first the tv was great... then less than 2 months later the main system board died and the TV wouldn't power on (red flashing light). Took over a week to get Sony to send a technician (sub contractor had to wait for parts) to fix it. Tech ended up loading a 75" firmware onto the board (I looked on Sony's site and at the time they only had a 55" firmware for Mexico/South America) but the TV seemed fine. I work in IT, and I know that sometimes stuff happens and you can get a bad part. My wife didn't quite feel the same way and wanted the TV replaced at that time, but whatever. Fast forward another 5 months and the picture died AGAIN, but this time the picture stays on for a few minutes (less than 5) and then goes black. You can see the backlight bleed through so that's on, but no diagnostic lights this time... call to Sony, again they say it's the main system board and need to set another appointment for their subcontractor to come out and fix it, of course I need to wait for them to get the parts... 4 business days and counting since I called. Oh and the TV needs to be unmounted from any wall mounts, which is understandable, but it's a VERY heavy TV compared to my 50" Samsung I was using previously. So that's twice I've needed to mount and unmount the TV and their sub contractors are not allowed to help.
The TV, while it was working, was fantastic. Very bright (great for dark scenes in movies) and great HDR quality. Compared to an LG UH7700 that on dark scenes where everything blended together. Reflection from light sources was acceptable, don't think it was any better or worse than any other TV we've owned. Android smart features were fine but the UI was a sluggish. No matter as we used a 4k Apple TV almost exclusively.
Great TV, but for a TV in this price range I expected Full Array Local Dimming not the cheaper edge lighting, but overall the picture quality was fantastic.

Bought this because it was a 2017 Sony close out model and was a great price. More importantly it was still rated as high as many of the top 2018 brands/models. It has a beautiful picture and streams Dolby Vision. I was a Samsung guy but now will always compare to Sony.

With the Android TV operating system the TV is really a dedicated computer with a really big display. Sometimes Android can get in the way when I just want to watch a TV. An example of the Android system being both good and a pain was when trying to watch some video files I has saved on a NAS drive. My old TV (also Sony) played the files no problem. The new one could not. I had to search for and download a media player program that then solved my problem. As long as you approach the TV as a computer with a large monitor you will understand.
As for the display - excellent image. I doubt one could do better.
