Great tv with some minor issues

My only issues is that it has WiFi issues which I had read about in other reviews. Also issues with the YouTube app crash and saying there’s no internet. For gaming it’s great the games look crisp and I haven’t seen any stutters. So overall if there could be some patch for the WiFi and update for YouTube I’ll be good.

If the issue only occurs using a cable box, then the cable box may be the issue. Likewise, if the noise doesn't occur when using the built-in tuner of your TV, or when you change video inputs, the issue isn't on your TV.
Some cable or satellite set-top boxes allow the user to select a specific output setting. Change the following output settings on the set-top box:
Video output: 1080i
Audio output: stereo, PCM, or LPCM
4 x 3 Override: Off
Note:
You may need to restart or reboot the set-top box after you make the changes above.
Contact your cable or satellite service provider for model-specific information and further troubleshooting steps.

Not worth $900

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not entirely sure if this TV was worth paying more fore, but overall I am satisfied, Too much bloat and ads for a $900 TV and the built-in chrome cast was buggy, the screen share feature was not working as expected after an update so I ended up having to buy an external Chromecast to support screen sharing through Chromecast that was not app dependent. Plus its not a simple task turning advertisements off to enjoy the TV I payed so much for. For the amount of ads thrown at me, it feels like Sony should be paying me $900 to use this TV and not the other way around. It took me hours to turn off all the the advertisement apps pre-loaded into this TV. Would not recommend because of the crazy amount of ds and how difficult and unintuitive it is to remove all the ad content I think the remote is a lot larger than it has to be, but I do like that I can control the TV through wifi on a tablet, the UI is not ideal either on the app or the TV, Sony should give more customization options for the UI which is functional but not ideal. Its fast but a bit clunky to navigate. I find it is weird that there are so few apps available on Android's TV OS. The TV should default to the chromecast screen when there is no input rather than risking burn in with a dark screen that shows an error message. This TV is great if you enjoy aggressive advertising... This does not feel like a premium TV experience with so many ads and limited customization. the TV's functionality is buggy. If I payed full price for this TV I would have been very angry. I will not be surprised if the price drops more for this TV next year. This was not a $900 premium experience, this felt more like a $500 TV that I payed $900 for. I would not recommend at its current price. I'm shocked that this TV was originally $1,400 and its THIS buggy!

It has Google Assistant and integrates well with Alexa. Dolby Vision is awesome, HDR looks great. The remote is long and not back-lit but I’m using the remote to control my Xfinity X1 cable box and it works great. This TV has replaced my set top boxes.

Also I’m not really sure where or if you can get Apple Music on the tv but since that’s what I use and couldn’t seem to find it im a little disappointed.

Awesome deal so far

They said I could exchange. As I browsed the inventory, I saw the same exact TV. Even though both were in Excellent condition, this one didn’t have a remote. In the end, the lady gave me an extra one they had on hand. I even saved $13 for some odd reason as this was cheaper. With gift cards, the $699 price was $440 out the door. I have had the Tv for a few days now and I am super impressed. I wanted a TV that was PS5 ready (No VRR yet). It actually works with my older Sony STR-DH820 receiver. I watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on Disney + and it was amazing. The upscaling must work well as my receiver is not 4K. Not sure if this was a demo, floor model or returned for some reason but I’m loving it so far. Hopefully the quality lasts- my old Panasonic Plasma is 12.5 years old but now it’s in the kids room. I’m using it mostly for PS4 until I can get a PS5.

I just hope it last longer than my previous sony tv which was 2 years. so far the colors are beautiful, game mode is very good and fast response time. 4k hdr movies look okay i would rate the movies quality a good 7/10. game play a good 9/10. perfect tv for upcoming xbox series x and ps5.

A big upgrade over the older 48” set we used to have. The remote is sizable but works quite well. Picture quality is quite good with vibrant colors. Misleading, but fine if you don’t need HDMI 2.1

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying this is by no means a bad tv, but Sony mislead myself and many others who bought this tv under the premise we’d be getting several HDMI 2.1 features, and they silently canceled that update. I won’t be buying Sony tvs anymore for this reason, and have since returned it. The tv itself is a fine set, if you aren’t after those features. It was a solid upgrade from my 2016 Vizio and going back to it after the upgrade was hard, because this is a genuinely good looking panel, but I won’t accept something I didn’t want, and won’t be buying anything that has a promised firmware update to bring a feature to it. Currently saving for an LGC1, and if you’re after HDMI 2.1 features I recommend that. Back to the actual TV, it has a 120hz panel but without VRR I struggled to want to keep it. It’s nice but has some issues with it. The sound would sometimes just stop requiring a full reset which was annoying but not the end of the world, but for what it’s worth, if sony didnt false advertise, I’d be fine continuing to rock this tv.

While we are glad you are satisfied with the great picture quality and the good-looking panel of our X900H, we are sorry if the VRR feature update is not yet available to this TV and that it needs to be returned. We are also sorry if you are encountering an audio issue.
A U.S. Sony Support article was updated and incorrectly removed reference to future support for VRR and ALLM for the X900H series.
Please note that this was an error, and the plan to support these features is unchanged from the previous communication wherein we state that the X900H will support VRR and ALLM via a future firmware update. For the Sound issue, some of these problems can be fixed by updating the firmware of the TV to the latest version (v6.0466 - released February 23, 2021). The firmware update improves the functionality and features of your TV. It also provides fixes to any performance issues that you are encountering.
