Gorgeous TV Held Back by Atrocious Viewing Angles

Very low input lag (~14ms) at 60hz, and cuts down even lower to 6.5ms at 120hz content. As a result, not only do games like Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War look incredibly smooth at 120hz, but they also feel extremely responsive. Visual-wise, this tv looks great. Colors pop and are very accurate, and even considering the lower 32 local dim zones, backlight blooming in dark scenes is manageable and not nearly as noticeable as it has been on my previous $500 TV set. Contrast is great as well, so blacks look pretty good, even in low to no light. Just don’t be expecting the same level of blacks you’d get from an OLED. NOW, my only and biggest complaint is just how horrible the viewing angles are. I seems that even as much as a degree of change can initiate a change in the picture, resulting in a lowering of contrast and desaturation of color. Even when sitting 5 feet away from the TV (when I play games), slighting moving my head to the left, right, or raising my head up and down slightly, you will instantly see a shift in picture. This leads to the the image to look normal right in the middle of the tv where you’re looking, but looking slightly different everywhere else around that point. If you sit at any angle past the edge of the TV, the picture shift starts becoming more noticeable. So if you have a particularly wide sitting arrangement, I would not buy this TV. If you play games sitting directly in front of the TV, and closer than 5 feet away, I would not buy this TV unless you’re ready to accept the fact that you will not be getting full screen fidelity in this setting. You may not be as sensitive to those types of things as I am, but I’ve found it pretty distracting, and if my return period had not passed, I would probably be returning this TV for an LG CX, which has *significantly* better viewing angles and the best blacks you can get with the OLED technology. Although at least with the Sony x900h doesn’t have the risk of possible burn-in like the LG CX does.

A Good TV hampered by issues with latest firmware

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This sony tv is amazing and i am sure most ppl who buy this tv own a ps5 or series x/s. the latest firmware update which gave the tv the capability to do 4k 120hz has had issues. At times i do not get audio output from the tv and noticed if i switched to 60hz on my xbox then i get sound again. After looking at a youtube video you have to go into the IP control settings and reset it in order to get sound out of the tv while playing series x or ps5 and it works. Also i lose video signal when i switch inputs from 3 to hdmi 4... I hope sony will release a future firmware update to fix these issues because it is a great 4k TV.

Pretty impressive

Interested to see how this will work with ps5. Not sure if it will be able to perform at the peak of what the next gen will do but I’ve always been behind as far as TVs and their respective generations do. This should be fine since it’s a noticeable step up from before. Plus the process and HDR performance was under 1k dollars. That’s nice lol
