After bringing the TV home, I was very happy with it for the first week. The picture quality is amazing for an LED TV, especially at this price point. Then Sony pushed a software update. Now the TV constantly crashes and needs to reboot every time it is turned on. Additionally, the TV consistently fails to connect with external devices. My Sonos sound bar is essentially a brick with this TV. I really want to like this TV, but it's a shame how poorly executed the product is. Overall the picture quality is great, but unless you want to spend half an hour troubleshooting and adjusting settings to get your peripherals to work (after the TV has crashed and rebooted), look elsewhere

I would say, ask yourself what you want from a television. The picture is fine but doesn’t knock my socks off. A lot of the hoopla comes from the brand name (my opinion). There are lesser supported names with better pictures but build quality and longevity may be lacking. Also, consider where you’ll be watching. The picture seems to change quite a bit depending on the room’s lighting situation. Some apps show great natively and others better using a streaming device. The Apple TV app is much better streaming from the the Apple TV device. Finally, privacy is not an option here. Great feature to have someone take over your television remotely when you’re having an issue but what’s available to them when you’re not? The set is $1400. Maybe that’s not bad for someone with deep pockets. But, for the person that just wants to replace a different set and isn’t swayed by the name, I’d say get best buys protection and take a chance on a lesser name.

Picture quality is good, but after only 3yrs the TV died. In the 3 yrs. it would lose the Wifi connection at least once a week. Now I have to have Geek Squad out to repair witch will cost probably more than the TV is worth. Good thing I didn't take out the 3yr protection because it would of expired in Nov.

Does not do 120 hz. This TV sucks. They have a known hardware issue that can not be fixed with updates. If you are buying because of the HDMI 2.1 look elsewhere.

    FAULTY 120 Hz!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Beware before buying this TV, the 120 Hz is faulty. The screen does not get bright enough to take advantage of HDR. These are both highly important for a 4KTV, especially for gaming. This is a $400 TV with falsly advertised features that allow them to charge more. Do your homework before purchasing.
