Not with this TV. I am upgrading from a Pioneer Pro Plasma and in almost every way the picture is far superior. The black levels are first rate, there is no light bleed problems that I've found with many edge lit LED's. I'm even impressed with the CEC control, which I've never really been a fan of. DirecTV looks fantastic on this TV. I'm a huge Star Trek TNG fan and the old episodes have never looked so good. Colors are rich, detail is superb and the overall experience really makes me say WOW. I don't even have to tell you what UHD 4K content looks like, the TV speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor and buy this TV.

Best LED TV including HDR's
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent picture quality even though it isn't HDR. It has a better picture than any TV we looked at including sony's own 930d which is the replacement. The black levels are so good you'd think this was a plasma TV. The only TV we felt has a slightly better picture was the LG OLED. But OLED's are having their own issues. Having said that they were playing entirely different content on each set so not a fair comparison. I didn't realize how big of a difference full array sets made as far as black levels go. This set produces great white levels too. Anyone who bought or is considering buying should be extremely happy with this set. Oh yeah, 3D is incredible too on this set. Plus the frame warping on sony's newer sets makes me feel they are cheaply made. Sony kept this set around for two year for a reason. Picture quality!!!!!

Better Than OLED 4K?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here's an interesting review. Good luck finding an article, blog or review online that compares the Sony XBR-65x950b with the LG 65EG9600 (4K OLED). I have done quite a bit of research. Here's what I've found: 1. 950b has AMAZING and very underrated, deep blacks. True blacks. If someone is wearing a black shirt with black buttons that aren't the same shade of black, you will be able to identify the two shades. The LG has great blacks - very, very deep blacks. But does it always pick up the different shades? No, unfortunately not. I've been told by multiple experts that it can sometime be a wash out. #Seriously, I've done a lot of research.) 2a. LG has awesome colors! But so does the 950b. There are many non-Sony fans that will bash the Triluminos display, but it really has wonderful and "natural" colors. I'm not a gamer. I'm more of a movie watcher. I want to see colors they way they are supposed to look. Nothing out of the ordinary. 2b. The daytime viewing on the 950b is excellent, just as led/lcd TVs have always been known for, however, nighttime viewing is just as good. Does the LG have better colors? I believe so, but how long will they last? You should do a search for LG OLED blue pixels. 3. Speaking of pixels, let's review longevity. Losing blue pixels is one thing, ok a big thing, but after 12,000 hours of viewing, how would you like your near $10K TV to start dimming? Burn-in is also a problem. Like our beloved plasmas, over time there is a strong chance of burnt in images in your expensive TV. Conclusion: I'm not here to bash to LG product, nor do I work for Sony. I'm in Real Estate. That means I do a lot of research on products and I know a market for said product. I haven't found many unbiased OLED reviews. All I have read is that it's an amazing picture with wonderful, bright colors and the deepest blacks you will find in a TV. I believe all of that to be true. However, think about how you watch TV and what you are REALLY looking for in your daily entertainment. The Sony 950b provides deep blacks, amazing colors, #I haven't even talked about the full array local dimming#, top-of-the-line 4K up-scaling and a processor that is, by far, the best you will find with comparable products. I wouldn't even get too excited about the c series of Sonys and the X1 products. You can put a faster motor in a car, but the rest of the parts have to be able to handle the speed. If you are comparing the two TVs, wondering which you should purchase, I say go with the known brand that is Sony. Get an amazing TV that will outlast it's competitors and provide you with the picture you are really looking for in everyday TV watching. Save yourself the extra $3K and invest in some really good sound or maybe something for lady, since she just watched you spend WAY too much on dang TV.

Great movie room tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with the full array backlight as it really makes the black levels shine in a pitch black room. 3d looks good although I prefer passive over this active. Bluray looks amazing, 4k streaming is perfect, waiting on my 4k player now. Only negatives I have is my Yamaha receiver and the tv seem to have an issue as the tv keeps trying to default to primary sound when i first cut it on and my 1st tv had a dead pixel, Bestbuy was great getting a new set to my house quickly. I tried lg 4k but it had to much light bleed. This has none. The colors are beautiful and it handles motion on sports well!!

Wow! Beautiful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vibrant yet realistic color. Amazing blacks and shadow detail. Excellent upscaling. Best motion processor I've seen, a world ahead of other popular brands. Unusually nice speaker system. I was concerned I'd be dissatisfied with any set. I've been spoiled by a Pioneer plasma for nine years, and I've been completely underwhelmed by popular brands that have been pushed on friends and relatives, so I shopped carefully. I am 100% satisfied with this beautiful Sony set.

Excellent picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We tried two 65" Sony 900C TVs, but both had light bleed problems. I was aware of this potential problem, and the folks at Best Buy assured me that they would "take care of it" if there was a problem. True to their word, they traded out both of the 900C TVs without any drama at all. For our third try, we decided to give up on the 900C and spend a bit more to move up to the 950B. We have no regrets. The full-array, local dimming produces an outstanding picture, and is worth the extra dollars. The only negatives of the 950B are: 1) It's a 2014 model, and has the old proprietary Sony Entertainment Network. This has a less user friendly interface than the Android OS of the newer Sony TVs. 2) Price... even though the price has dropped dramatically in the 2 years since this TV was introduced, it's still expensive. 3) Bulk... it's a big, heavy TV. We really liked the thin, sleek 900C, which really hugged the wall. The 950B is twice as heavy, and fairly thick. However, that said, it's still a very nice looking TV. 4) Since it's a 2014 model, there wasn't one in the store. The first opportunity we had to see one was when it was delivered to our home. So, if it's in your price range, look past the fact it's a 2014 model, and you'll get the best LCD/LED TV available.

Blooming issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV has appears to have what I understand to be blooming issues and will be need to be returned to be repaired or replaced when the Geek Squad comes out to pick it up. Very disappointing for an extremely expensive TV.

Awesome Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is awesome! The picture quality is second to none. Even my HD content looks noticeably better (blu-ray, DirecTV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Sony PS4, Apple TV). I have only owned Plasma TVs in the past and I tell you, the black levels on this TV are amazing. I cannot see a difference between my plasma TVs (LG & Pioneer) and this TV. This model is expensive and I was worried I would have buyers remorse. However, the picture quality is so much better and I am very pleased with my decision to drop the dough. If you can afford this TV, you will not be disappointed. :-)

Great TV for 20 minutes, then done.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This top rated former flagship TV looked like it was going to live up to the hype until it stopped working 20 minutes after setup. Fortunately Best Buy service is going to replace it.

Excellent 4K TV for now and the coming years.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not elaborate on the features of this TV as they are thoroughly covered in different forums. To me the selection came down to LG OLED, SONY XBR 950B and Samsung SUHD. All the three models deliver what they promised in 4k land pretty well. But given the 4k content we have currently, it came down to which model can upscale the current 1080 P content well to 4k, Sony XBR wins here hands down compared to LG and Samsung. Other factors that went into the Sony favor : a. the black levels on the LG OLED is not significantly better than the Sony to shell additional money. b. the life span of OLED TV is not confirmed yet c. The black levels on Samsung ranked last in this list.

Still the best tv out!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv and i got to say wow! It is far and beyond my expectations. I compared this 2014 model to the newer 2016 sonys and it blew them away, you wont even miss the fact that it doesnt support the new hdr features because it looks better than any of the hdr tvs including samsungs and lg oleds. Truly the best tv on the market and i expect the price to skyrocket when this television becomes discontinued.

Not Worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it is a good TV. It does have about the best picture for and LCD with LED full array backlight. However having said that, there are minor issues that are annoying to my eye and probably others. Especially for the cost of this unit. Depending on different low light scenes vertical dark bands appear and vertical light bands appear. This is cause by local dimming and is very annoying. I see it I see it on all the 950B on store displays when they show a shuttle gray screen. The screen also has an uneven illumination also due the full array. You get hallows around bright images (Objects and letters) with a dark backgrounds behind it. This is also due the full array and local dimming. There is an inherent issue with shuttering of the image. Though you have many modes for motion control to choose from and you can eliminate the shutter in almost all cases. But not the best from my previous LCD displays. In Closing buy a Plasma if you can get / find one or wait for OLED prices to come down with more manufactures getting into it. Especially If you a already spending 6-8 thousand for this model. PROs - Good Picture and contrast if you want to live with issues I described above. Sony makes good products that last long. CONS - Picture to coast ratio is poor. Cost makes this unit not worth the picture you get therefore not worth the money.

GO BUY IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been looking at this tv for a year. When they reduced the price $500 I had to jump on it. Beautiful picture quality! I added a blue ray player and a Harmony remote and Geek Squad hooked everything up for me including my vcr, antenna tv and my Bose. If you are going to do it, do it right one time. Get (and spend) what you need to make it perfect! Money well spent! Couldn't be happier!
