Great Piece Of UHD 4K Tech With HDR Capability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a great TV that will meet the new requirements for UHD Blu-Ray and High Dynamic Range (HDR). HDR is the latest technological buzz word for current panels and future panels as well. Luckily, Sony has decided to use local dimming as this is a requirement but having a panel that can get bright is huge. Those two areas are a must to take full advantage of High Dynamic Range. There were no light bleeds, blooming or clouding from the panel. Out of the box the colors popped, contrast and black levels jump out at you after a few minor adjustments. Setting basic adjustments are required for all televisions if you want the best picture. The reproduction of Blu-Ray disks are outstanding and cable broadcasts looked great. Also, this set can upscale 720 and 1080 content to near 4K levels but take into consideration no television can upscale to true 4K levels if the content isn't 4K but this Sony comes real close. Provide real 4K content and you will see the true capability of this particular panel especially if the content is encoded with HDR! Wow, the movies I downloaded for free from Amazon Prime (this is a free Sony promotion) were 4K with HDR and I must say I was impressed to say the least! The blacks were inky, the colors popped and the contrast was exceptional! UHD Blu-Ray disks are on the way and this will take at home movie watching to the next level! As somebody who takes this stuff serious I can recommend the Sony XBR65930C and I don't think you will regret it.

Perfect size for the master bedroom.

I got this model because I didn't want to have to install speakers in the bedroom ceiling. The only down side is that it will not download certain apps for the smart TV, such as the Time Warner Cable app and Watch ABC app which I was able to get on my Samsung TV that I have in the den.
