Love my new Sony X930C
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on purchasing a new 4K TV, with the intention of buying a Samsung. I looked at reviews from all the "experts" and those that had purchased the same model. But it wasn't till I went into Best Buy and saw I for myself, that I made up my mind that this was going to be the one for me. The picture is stunning, and when the sales associate turned up the sound, I was blown away by the entire system. I happen to love the speakers, and feel they give the TV a very unique look. I tweaked the picture settings just a bit, to improve the factory settings. If professional calibration would make the picture any better, I can't imagine how nice it might be. Or if there is a website with suggested settings I'd check it out. If you're looking....... I strongly suggest this 4K UHD TV!!!

Sony at it's best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony XBR-65X930C is one of the best TV's I've ever owned. The upscaling works so well I can't hardly tell a difference from 1080P and 2160P. I particularly like the speakers on this TV because the sound quality is pretty awesome. It's like having a high quality sound bar built right into the TV. I haven't gotten the wireless subwoofer yet but I can only imagine it makes the sound experience that much better. If your a Directv customer this TV is perfect for you with the built in Directv ready app. The TV works with a Directv Genie to become it's own client receiver meaning there is no need to hook up a Directv receiver because the TV is the receiver. I would highly recommend this TV for anyone looking for a truly amazing picture & sound quality experience.

Amazing picture!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on this TV is absolutely amazing!!!! The upscaling feature on this TV will make that which is old look totally new!! I had no plans of spending such a high amount of money for a TV but this is money well spent!! The only complaint I have concerns the speakers. The clarity is great. The bass is ahhh. I had the 2004 version of this TV which was the basis for me looking for this specific TV when I was ready to upgrade. The speakers on the 2004 version were great. Rarely did I need to turn on my surround sound to add any sort of bass to the sound. I have played with the equalizer several times and I still can't find a sound I am happy with. If anyone has any suggestions please forward. Regardless I would highly recommend this TV to a friend and buy it again myself. This was money well spent!!

An almost perfect tv at a great cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got my tv as a open box and have to say the price was just right. $1899. The tv was already fantastic at $2500 but this made it a no brainier. I'll try to make this much shorter than most of my reviews and make pros vs con list instead of long winded paragraphics that I normally do. Pro: *The built in speakers really are stellar and eiliminate the need to instantly buy a sound bar. I personally also find them to look premium * The wifi actually works. I've had 3 android / smart tvs and this is the only one that stays connected to the wifi after turning the tv off and back on. * Great clean interface that isnt slow as sin. * Amazing picture clarity however the tv is defaults on vivid which imho is just far to bright and will kill your tvs back light pretty quickly. *Best upscaling of 1080p content. Im a huge hd dvd collector and my HD DVDs and Blu rays all looked prestine on this tv. Cons: * The biggest con I could find is the google speak in no way works you always have to type things. * No keyboard remote is lame and the fact that the remotes are so cheap for such a premium tv is ridiculous. Like these are the cheapest remotes i've seen in a long time. *Tv always defaults back to vivid picture setting and I have to manually switch it back to my custom tune every time.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this TV for about a week now and love it. Our last TV was a Pioneer Elite (plasma). This TV definitely has a different look to it than the plasma, but we like it a lot. It did take some tinkering to get the settings right, but now we are happy. My only nit pick is that the picture appears to be a little over sharpened. Although upscaling is very good, watching 4K program material (as on Netflix) is amazing.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH TV AND GEEK SQUAD AND LE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a gruesome and very bad expierence from point A to point B with first Tv going out then second one then third one. These episodes have left a very bad taste in our mouths. We purchased a Sony 65" tv with the expectations that Sony and Best Buy with warranty would stand behind us, well guess what we went trjrough such a headache with the hold protocol from the geek squad to finally getting another tv.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this television because of the superior up scaling due to lack of 4k content out there however my television was never able to update it's firmware no matter what I did. WiFi, hardwired, USB flash drive. I spent a week going back and forth with Sony and the TV and unless you update the television, you can't use any of its features or apps. Complete waste of time and software is very buggy. After spending $3300, you would think you're getting a quality product. I'm sure this TV is a lemon but it's been so frustrating to say the least. I think I'm going to stay with the Samsung 8500. I am considering giving it one more shot because Sony is the leader in 4k but what then why is this happening? Is it really worth the extra $1300? I'm not so sure.

Awesome 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at a few TVs. But, decided I wanted a Sony. So it was down to this one and the XBR65X900C. I saw a lot of bad reviews on the 900c. Mostly on how it had really bad light bleed. I pretty much made up my mind when I didn't see any bad reviews on this TV. I've had it for about a week now and I love it. The 4K images are breathtaking. Even the up-scaled images are just as awesome. The built-in speakers sound awesome. The 3D looks good, too.

Outstanding Picture and Sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned the 930C since the end of August, had the TV calibrated in October and I have to say this is the BEST Picture and Non separate sound system out there. I have read the reviews by people who claim they have this TV and have all sorts of problems with it. Either they are phony reviews or got a bad set but didn't bother to either set it up right or replace it. I too wasn't happy about the price point, but after owning this TV for 4 months I am more than satisfied with the Picture Quality and Sound. The picture was very good prior to calibration, but afterwards the picture was Outstanding and I would recommend anyone that owns a high caliber set like this spend the extra and get the calibration as I was made a believer.

One of the best TV's on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did quite a bit of research before purchasing my first 4K television. I found that Sony was pretty much at the top. The 930c model is basically everything I've wanted in a TV. It's picture is remarkable, the sound quality with the big front firing speakers is top notch (you can even add a wireless sub woofer to it), and even though some people aren't fans of the smart system, I really like the Android Google operating system that is powering the TV. After the recent updates I haven't had any issues with it, and even before the updates it wasn't a problem. Best TV on the market for the price. Blu ray discs look amazing, and so does any other source because of its up-conversion it does. Great tv!

Better than the Samsung 9k series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do research, day in and day out. Technology is a passion of mine. Originally I purchased a 9000 series Samsunf SUHD curved TV. It was beautiful. Easy to navigate and generally a very pretty picture. Sony dropped their price 500 dollars and I thought "Why not, it's less." And I'm so happy I returned that set. The 930C is beautiful. It's like comparing a Toyota to a Bently. Better fit and finish. Cleaner crisper picture (the Samsung was great though) Better remote control. Better OS All around 100% happy with the purchase.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony always has great quality. Much better picture and set up than the equivalent Samsung. I use my TV with AppleTV and the to sinc well. I did have some minor hick ups with the sound going dead but a software upgrade from Sony fixed the problem.

Wonderful 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending a week with the x930c I can say that while it's not perfect it's as close as any TV out there to perfection. Amazing 4K performance as expected and fantastic 1080 and 720 upscaling. SD upscaling is only as good as the source and most sources aren't very good (or very plentiful, thank goodness)-- Calibration settings on the RTINGS.com web site work quite well and produce a wonderful picture. The only exception being the Brightness setting, which should be turned down a few clicks (from the preset 50, I would suggest 45 or thereabouts) to get a solid (not washed out) image with most standard HD sources. This TV is expensive, but for one of the best pictures available, worth it if you have the resources--

Second Sony 4K TV, Second Problematic TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an XBR65X900B last year. The TV lasted two months before a software update nuked it. Geek Squad attempted to replace the main board but due to part availability issues, they had to give me a store credit instead. Kudos to Geek Squad for their handling of that issue. I then gave the 930C a try. I really want to like this TV but it is filled with hardware and software bugs. The Android OS adds improved features but the user interface has considerable lag and crashes frequently. As others have noted, the panel has significant light bleed and banding issues that you can't fine tune out. The upscaling of content to 4K is hit or miss depending on the source channel. A number of programs on channels such as TBS HD have a snow-like effect that other channels don't produce. There is a bug in the audio system that results in random high pitch audio. The problem corrects itself after a short period of time but it is annoying. The problem manifests on all HDMI inputs. Sony support had a service company come out to replace the audio board but the problem persists. Sony support gave me the runaround when I called to report the continued problem. I have since engaged Geek Squad and will let them sort it out with Sony. If you are looking at this TV, I would wait until they sort out the defects. If you are set on purchasing this TV, purchase the Geek Squad warranty with it.

Extremely Happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased at great price: $2700 (taxes included) Very happy with the AndroidTV interface Love the TV speakers, gives it a distinct look and very good sound. BluRays + 4K videos are amazing on this set. Wish I could control the treble/bass. No lightbleed on my set. Blacks are very dark. But obviously not as black as on a plasma/OLED set. Get this TV.
