Enjoying my New TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great 4K TV. I would have given 5 rating if not for the dark areas at corners of the TV. Best buy did a price match and was able to get it.

Disappointed with all low cost TVs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very impressed with resolution, colors of the panel and Android TV, but I ended up returning it because of the black light bleed. I watch movies in a lowly lit room and the bleeding completely destroyed dark scenes. If I used this TV for mostly cable viewing – I would have kept it. I replaced it with a higher end, last year's Sony model.

Large, beautiful picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So easy to set up. Internet access and aps were also easy. The remote has a big Netflix button.

Awesome TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speakers are not the best, but most serious home users connect TV to a receiver anyways.

DO NOT BUY THIS TV!! DEAD AFTER 4.5 MONTHS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV in December 2015. At the end of April 2016, the TV started asking for firmware updates, and stopped recognizing my hdmi inputs. On May 6, 2015, the TV started a firmware update and has not worked since. The screen just says that it is "Optimizing Android Apps # out 194". It has been 13 days, and I am still without a working TV. Sony has offerred to give me a new TV, since they are "out of the part to fix the issue", BUT will not provide a full warranty on the replacement TV (only the remaining warranty of my original purchase). So if this issue or any other issue happens again after 6 months, i will not be covered. I shouldn't have a TV die on me after 4-5 MONTHS. So why would I be ok with just accepting a new TV and trust that this TV is going to be ok??? Plus...I would be terrified to do another software upgrade on this TV!!! TO SONY and BEST BUY.... AS A CONSUMER, I just want to know that i will be covered for the next failure since I have no confidence in this SONY 4K TV. I would advise people to not buy this TV or any of the Sony XBR models.... There is clearly an issue with the components and software on these TVs. DO NOT BUY THIS TV!!!!

Sony Customer Service Horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV for the first few months was good. After then the unit started to reboot itself while watching tv. It would go to the start up screen where the TV would begin as if I just plugged it in for the first time. I called Sony as told by Best Buy and was told to do a factory reset and update software again. This did not solve the issue. When I called again Sony said they had to trouble shoot, after they ran remote diagnostics they told me there were no issues. Called again when it happened and same suggestion. When I called today they told me I had to call as it happened. Ya that's going to be difficult. I requested a tech to come to the house for assistance they would not honor that request. Then the customer service said I needed to be escalated to a special customer support... still waiting for a call back. I'm not saying best buy is at fault, just the support for Sony. Think twice before buying this brand.

Horrible upscaling, 4K is average
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As you know 98 percent of the content currently available is 2K. This TV does horrible job upscaling 2K. As a result, you are worse of using a this 4K TV watching 1080p 2K than cheapest 1080p TV. I suggest skip this TV for next 2 years.

Trouble from the start
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV in February and had it set up by Best Buy. We had DirecTV installed a few days later since they were the only local company that streams 4K programming. From the beginning we started having many issues. Some of these issues are that the TV tells us it does not have HDMI cable's which it does. It says I need to set it up with the Internet, which it is. The sound and/or TV will just randomly turn off while we are watching it, or the sound will not come on at all. Now it is randomly turning off and on with a white snowy screen and loud popping noises. The only thing that has been able to fix any of these issues is if I unplug it from its power source and then plug it back in. I have to do this approximately three times a week. Then I have to reset all the settings. This is all very frustrating. At first I thought it was an issue with DirecTV and I even had them send me a new mini 4K box thinking that might be the issue. It wasn't. I really cannot stand this TV and would really like to just trade it in on something else but since it is past its 15 day return they will only come out and fix it since I paid for the warranty. Also I noticed the price has dropped about $500 since we purchased it which does not make me very happy. We recommend you do not waste your time and money on this TV set unless you like being annoyed all the time.

65"Sony XBR 65X 810c
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is OK, Picture is fine. My complaint is with the FONT, and Font size, and Font color used on the "GUIDE" feature. For secondary descriptions, small grey letters are used on a black background. Very hard to see. I reviewed this in depth w/ two Sony reps, No way to change this color scheme, or Font size to make readable at 15' distance. Larger yellow letters on a blue background option would make it so much better. I am disappointed that they didn't take the extra step to make "Guide" more legible on a rather expensive TV.

First and last Sony I'll ever buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Television worked great for two years. Then I began getting the flickering screen when I turned my tv on. It kept getting worse, so I called Sony. Terrible costumer service. Told me that it wasn't under warranty so it was up to me to fix it. Tried to reason with them and said it was nothing I did to the tv, it was a electrical error. The rep wouldn't even transfer me. Upon further research it seems like this is obviously an error in the model number that Sony should be well aware of and is doing nothing about. A good company would put out a recall and try to fix the problem, not Sony. I'm going back to Samsung and I would suggest everyone does the same. They have better products and actually have customer service that's cares...

Broke after 4 months!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the TV for a few months, I noticed that using the smart settings on the TV would occasionally cause the TV to freeze and I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset. Just last week, my remotes stopped working, including the oem remote, cable and phone remote. I did all the troubleshooting and was told the IR blaster went bad on my TV and that I would have to pay to get it fixed. Sony is such a great brand, but I may look at LG next time.

Don't buy Sony 4K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a new 65 inch Sony on March 13. Tv was great until the software update on April. Now the tv has so many issues! The volume will show in the screen for no reason and now you can't shut down the tv speakers if you have an audio system hook up. I spent a hour on the phone with Sony and they confirmed a problem. Still waiting for a repair. No matter what I do the volume will randomly show on the tv. Do not update your tv

HDMI plugs die after 1w TWICE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband purchased this TV twice and now we are out of a Sony 65" tv which I thought was a reliable brand. The first one he purchased, we got the cable guy to install a new receptor and he wasn't able because all the hdmi inputs weren't working (and the week before there was no problem). We returned the TV (which was a hassle) and then got a new one thinking we might of had bumped into a bad batch. He had even tried what was proposed to unplug everything and to replug everything. Now 2 weeks after the 2nd one purchased, same thing! We contacted Sony and they couldn't help us more than the unplug and replug solution. We are now without a TV and shopping for another brand. I would of never thought that SONY would have this problem happen...

Defective TV, no support from Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this $1200 TV, just a couple of years ago and now the tv is on a constant reboot, I’ve done the factory reboot with no luck, I’ve been in some contact with Sony only for them to tell me a part is on back order, and this issue was supposed to be resolved a few weeks ago and that story keeps changing. I have to pay for a monthly cable bill and no tv to watch, I’m completely disgusted and will never by a so y product again and will continue to explain how dissatisfied and disgusted I am.
