Absolutely not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was set on an OLED and was convinced of this Sony over the LG equivalent due to the superior speed of its processor (which was evident in a store demo). Despite a lacking UI and remote I was excited for the picture quality. The problem is that weeks later in my home I found myself struggling to display a single picture or video in true OLED-quality 4K UHD. 4K movies purchased from Amazon video: great but not stunning. 4K Netflix content: impressive but not mindblowing. Stock Sony screensavers: blurry and downright disappointing. Now I realize that a sort of cap exists for streamed content (despite an 997MB Google Fiber ethernet connection). But that being the case, I found myself wondering why I had spent so much money, taken on the burn-in risk, and compromised on far superior UI’s in order to be able to be able to play content that is so utterly unrealistic to access in 2020 (hardcopy 4K UHD content on a Blu-ray player or USB stick). Despite the beautiful aesthetic of the thing, I ended up switching it out for the Samsung Q80” and so far I could not be happier. The remote is sleek and minimal, the UI is eons easier to navigate, and the screensavers (ambient mode) are as beautiful as I would expect a high-end company to provide. AND yes, everything that I have seen so far on the new tv has been just as good, if not better (imo), than the OLED. With the anti-glare tech the blacks look just as good as the Sony OLED did. Now I have a tv with an excellent UI, top-tier picture quality, a much more modern remote, no worrisome common issues like burn-in — all at a lower price point. Needless to say I am very happy with my decision and I will not be recommending OLED tv’s to friends and family.

Great tv. Better than Samsung Q80
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first started out with the Samsung Q80T(the 2020 model) over this model only because i read reviews on both this one and the Samsung Q80 and most the reviews said the Samsung was better for glare reduction. Being that i have a big bay window across from my tv that was a big concern. Let me say my experience was the complete opposite. The Samsung had a real bad glare when the tv was on or off where as the Sony A8G had next to none. Even with the curtains open in the middle of the day there was barely a glare on the Sony. As far as picture quality i also heard lots of reviews saying the Samsung was much better. This was also untrue for me. Again it was the complete opposite for me. It took me a week of being on the phone with support from best buy and from samsung to try and get the picture to not look either horribly fake or super fuzzy. i must have went through tons of reviews online and tech help from multiple agents from best buy and Samsung. Again nothing i did with the Samsung tv worked. With the Sony A8G as soon as i took it out of the box is was what i was looking for. It worked with netflix, movies and even cable box tv. everything was great. So for me, hands down i am super happy with switching from the Samsung Q80 to the Sony A8G. the only bad thing i can say is the remote. when i am using the tv remote to control the cable is runs really slow through the guide. But i fixed that by just using the remote i got from that cable company and it scans through just fine.

Awesome TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV as a replacement for a defective A8F. The picture is outstanding. I cannot comment on sound as I use a Sonos Playbar, although I've heard that the TV speakers were downgraded. The build quality is about the same although I preferred the A8F's wire management. I was disappointed to see the remote was the same as the A8F and not the sleeker A9G remote. I'm still very happy with this tv.

Perfect picture Oled
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a lg oled so when it came time for a second tv I went with another oled. The picture is phenomenal. But with that said I wish I would have gotten another LG oled. The two main reasons are the remote is easier to use on the Lg. The other is the wifi is horrible. Lots of lagging pulling up apps. The router is 5 feet away.

Nice TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went in looking to buy a Samsung and bought this Sony instead. So far this tv is great, it has the best picture I have seen on any tv and has a lot of features. The one thing I don't like is the remote, I like the Samsung remote a lot better. The remote buttons are placed in the wrong spots I think. The commonly used buttons are placed far apart and not within reach of each other so you have to move your hand around on the remote instead of just moving your thumb.

Beautiful picture
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is great. I purchased a Sony Bravia in 2010 that I still have today and that still works perfectly so I am confident my new upgraded OLED tv will last just as long. The picture is crisp and perfect and since I paid the same price for this TV as I did for the one I bought 10 years ago I’d say the price is a deal. My only complaint is the remote. It’s bulky and awkward to me. I bought a Samsung at the same time as this tv and I prefer that remote much more. It’s sleek, slim and has just the right amount of buttons needed, which is not many. The remote for this TV feels like it is trying to do too much unnecessarily.

It’s a Sony...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have had a Sony before you know what I’m talking about. Quality and top notch. Really love this tv. The picture is amazing from any place in the living room. Sounds great also but I have a Sonos system so I rarely have used it since the first day. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is if you already have a Bravia tv you have the same old remote control. It’s got a couple new buttons but that’s it. For the price it should have a newer version but if it’s not broken why fix it.

Gorgeous
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely stunning picture and TV. Paired with the special Sony wall mount. Remote button tricky for me with clumsy thumbs, I guess, but I love everything else about the TV. This is a work of art. The Magnolia team was especially helpful, thank you guys.

Beautiful picture but remote needs improvement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We previously had plasma tv which is good tv but wanted bigger tv screen. The Sony 65" was the right size for our console cabinet and like that the sound comes through the screen and don't really need soundbar. The remote control is tricky when going from one place to another. Have read other reviews where remote control is an issue. Bought this TV during Black Friday which was good price. Would never pay regular price for any TV.

Great Quality TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this Sony Bravia and we are very happy with the purchase. Great size and picture quality. The onboard apps are easy to use. The remote is a little of a pain but we are overall very happy.

Beautiful.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always try to buy Sony for the longevity and quality. Cost more? Yes. Worth it, definitely. I would only note, I with it was a motion sensor to shut off if no one is in front of it. As well as a camera for giant zoom or Skype sessions... The remote could be better with their interface. For the most part, it’s easy to navigate but it does feel like it has a mind of its own sometimes. I still haven’t used it to it’s full potential. It could use an auto adjust to preference based on media being used..

Who needs a super power tv if you can’t get the in
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently fell for the 64” Sony Bravia OLED. In the store... it has hands down the best picture! In my home , however... it’s just... okay. I was assured by the salesman I didn’t any special “fiber optics “ to supply the information . Even the screen savers are mediocre ! I wish I had purchased a 75” Samsung QLED - at half the price! I’ve even tried a Blue ray video... just not that great. I realize this is a first world problem. I may have expected too much..? My previous tv was a Hisense Riki that I payed around $350. for. Yes.. the Sony is better but not as expected. Oh .. I should add the remote is maddening ! Way too many buttons!

Great picture
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony A8G has an excellent picture, I give it 4 stars. However, the remote control is out of date. I also purchased the Samsung Q90 at the same time. The Q90 remote is excellent.

Awesome TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently upgraded from a 14 year old Sony - I purchased the A8G about three weeks ago and it’s exactly what I was expecting. Awesome. Read reviews about the crappy remote - that’s true but I can live with it. Not a deal breaker.

Great Picture and a smarter TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the OLED TV , the setup was easy. I like the google TV interface compared to the to the Samsung TV I have. the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the remote. I was surprised it was a IR remote which means you have to be pointing directly at the TV with no obstacle between. Most remotes are RF now which does not need to point directly at the TV.

Overall this is a very good TV.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Any Sound Bar will block the sensor on this TV which is located at the bottom part of the TV frame. The makes the use of remote control difficult and uncomfortable.
