I've had this for just shy of one year now and I love it. It has an absolutely fantastic picture and more apps than you can shake a stick at. The only app so far we have not been able to add was Apple TV. I paired this with an HTST-5000 Sound Bar and man is it a nice setup. At the time the A9G was technically "better" but was just way too much more... so we went with this. We are happy. It's funny that most people don't know that Sony is still in the game with TV's but I think it's because they make high-end stuff (like they pretty much always have) and companies like Samsung have made a name for themselves by having some high-end products but then a litany of lower end products that people like to buy because of the name.

I purchased this TV as a replacement for a defective A8F. The picture is outstanding. I cannot comment on sound as I use a Sonos Playbar, although I've heard that the TV speakers were downgraded. The build quality is about the same although I preferred the A8F's wire management. I was disappointed to see the remote was the same as the A8F and not the sleeker A9G remote. I'm still very happy with this tv.

Excellent OLED Sony TV. Currently in use for only one week. Only concern was the TV lost my home network while streaming an Ultra HD movie on Prime Video. I had to power recycle the TV for it to recognize my home network. I am not sure if that was a TV issue or network issue (wireless). However, all my other devices in the house still recognized my network at the time the TV froze. Picture quality unmatched. Ease of use excellent. The TV is connected to Sonos surround sound system (Playbar, subwoofer, two rear Sonos ceiling speakers + amp). Connected to Comcast cable through wireless TV cable box. Also have Apple TV 4th gen. connected. Best Buy did the installation and they did a great job. Support has also been excellent. Highly recommend this TV.

I have owned a lot of TVs in my 70+ years. This one is like being there. True colors, just appears to be a wonderful TV at this point. I hope it lasts - this was a Best Buy warranty replacement for my 65A1E that got vertical bands on the screen after 18 months. This TV although $1200 cheaper, is clearly improved. No lines yet, just a perfect view into the world. OLED is the best way to watch TV. One thing to know is that if you got a 5 year warranty like I did, it is for the TV you bought and when it is replaced, that warranty goes bye-bye and you have to get a new one.

I haven't bought a TV in over 10 years so this was quite a big decision. I visited the store several times and asked lots of questions. I can't say enough about how amazing the best buy reps were to work with. I absolutely love my TV. I don't like a lot of "stuff" or wires. I am quite the minimalist. This TV was perfect for that. I love the quality of the speakers built into the TV. Of course they don't compare to a separate sound bar or subwoofer but they definitely out rank your average TV speaker. My guests have been quite impressed. I'm also not a "tech" person and get overwhelmed with tech easily. This TV, remote, google voice, and platform/setting options are super easy to navigate and use.

I have a lg oled so when it came time for a second tv I went with another oled. The picture is phenomenal. But with that said I wish I would have gotten another LG oled. The two main reasons are the remote is easier to use on the Lg. The other is the wifi is horrible. Lots of lagging pulling up apps. The router is 5 feet away.

As a retired AV Specialist I've always believed in, owned and trusted Sony as the best and this latest addition is no exception. The picture quality is stunning and the blacks are outstanding. (typical of Sony). It may take some time to tweak the settings to arrive at the best picture quality for your needs, but with the A8G, I like that you may set each input separately. A great feature. UHD is also superb and of course as time goes on, I will be looking for more 4K programing. It's like when HD came out who wants to watch in SD? There is very little buffering and the Android OS works just fine. I was going to run an ethernet line to the A8G but the router is right in the next room so there doesn't seem to be any reason I can think of in going through the trouble of running the line. OK, I am concerned about burn in, but I've convinced myself that there is no reason for losing sleep over it. There are plenty of safeguards built in like picture off (mute) should you need to pause for a long time and Pixel Shift. So I'm not going to worry about burn in. But if burn in concerns you, then look to the LED. One last comment. I read the reviews that gave a good score for reflectiveness. I knew when we bought the A8G that it was going to be in a bright family room. By no fault of the TV, I am disappointed and frankly distracted by the rooms reflection on the screen during the day, but just as why there are no windows in movie theaters, I can always get blackout curtains. If you have a bright room where the TV needs to be in front of windows then look to the brighter LED's. But still not a deal breaker to me. I would have never imagined that in my lifetime there would be a TV where the pixels generated their own light, but that's all the more reason I bought this Sony.

Why are you reading these reviews you should have already bought this TV! This is by far the best TV I’ve owned. 65” is a perfect size for my TV room. Color and picture are phenomenal! Blacks that are unbelievable and regular HD viewing looks far better than my 3 year old Sony Led tv that is 55”. I waited and bought this on the sale price but now I realize that it wouldn’t have hurt my feelings one bit if I would have bought it at regular price 6 months ago. I can go on and on about how spectacular this TV is but until you have it calibrated and sitting in your own home you cannot understand how awesome this TV is.

I debated about OLED when researching a new living room TV quite a few months ago. I really needed a 75" and just could not spend too much so I got a Vizio Quantum rather than a Sony X950G. Without making this a Quantum review I will say the picture at the time seemed amazing, but the wifi and built in streaming was terrible. The dolby atmos and dolby vision put me in awe. Had to get an Invidia Shield just to make everything work smoothly though. Fast forward 6 months and my Sony Bravia in the bedroom, that I have loved for 12 years, started to look really bad. I could especially tell when I was watching the Quantum and would turn it off to go to bed and finish watching TV. Horrible difference. I had already decided that if I bought another TV I would get something I really wanted or wait. The Quantum had disappointed. So, I made the splurge and got the Sony 65" OLED for the bedroom. I always heard they were great in lower light and I heard the sound was decent. I didn't want to hook up a surround sound in the bedroom, done that before, but wanted good sound. So, the laundry list was great picture in low light, decent on board sound, fast wifi connection, good on board streaming so I didn't need to add another device, just old fashion, hook up the TV and watch it. Let me tell you, this TV has been everything I could ask for. Plugged it in and the picture looked amazing, the Quantum required lots of tuning to get a decent picture. The wifi was fast enough to be able to watch anything without lag. The Quantum connected at 18mps wired, and the Sony is around 48 mps wireless. Compared to my Shield wired in the LR being 990MPS. So, the Sony is awesome for streaming anything wireless. The sound, does it compare to the LR. That is hooked up to a Pioneer Dolby Atomos receiver with big Klipsch floor standing speakers and surround sound, nope. Does it sound amazing for TV speakers, Yep, absolutely. A comparison for picture quality, my 8 year old and I like to watch Star Trek Voyager. The picture quality on the Quantum looks like a 90's show, not very good. On the Sony OLED, it looks looks like 4K. Even she can see the difference and now refuses to watch it in the living room, only on the OLED. The processor on the Sony is quite amazing, it seems no matter what the original format the Sony will make it look its best. Many night I sit in awe just looking at the quality of the OLED picture and trying to figure out how I can get a 75 or larger for the living room. I really doubt I will ever get anything thats not OLED again and I'm certain I will only buy Sony from now on, tried that, learned my lesson.

I always wanted a Sony tv and when I saw this baby on sale I decided to purchase. I am extremely satisfied with this Sony tv. The upscale feature makes most non-UHD content look very satisfying. The only content that I’ve noticed doesn’t look as great would be DVD’s or SD videos from early to mid 90s. Very pleased with the ergonomics as I can sit my sound bar perfectly under the tv. This tv excels when it comes to streaming/playing 4k-UHD content. Everything looks crystal clear the amount of details is outstanding! The only downside I’ve noticed is when you stream/play Dolby Vision content. This tv switches from whatever picture mode setting you have to Dolby Vision settings. When the tv does this, the content I am about to watch becomes very dim and very brown (it switches the color temperature to Expert 1). So how do I get around that without hiring a tv calibration expert? I just mimic the settings from whichever picture mode I like best (standard or vivid for me). This seems to have solved the dimness of Dolby Vision content and makes it look rich and pops out as I’m sure it’s intended to do! I am not sure why Sony decided to make the Dolby Vision picture settings this dim when at the stores the colors pop out so vividly, which is why most people buy these TVs anyways to match that same image at home.

I have long been a fan of Sony TVs. I believe their picture quality and processors set them apart from other brands. I can also speak to their reliability in the past. Although I personally would pay little attention to a review this early in a purchase, at this point, I am well pleased. This tv appears limited only by the quality of its source. Viewing 4K material shows what it is really capable of. Obviously, it is an OLED version with the pluses and minuses that entails. Sony makes some fine LED sets well worth considering, too.

This TV pops with color and clarity. The sound from the tv is incredible. OLED is great update if you have been living with led or even worse, plasma. This tv is a must have if you want an amazing upgrade that will last a long time in my opinion. This tv replaced a Samsung led tv and blew it away in picture quality but just a little better in sound quality. The features are amazing from internet to wifi. I could go on but read the specs yourself and get one, you won't be disappointed. I was a Samsung patriot until Sony stepped up there game with this tv.

Although the A8G does not have the best video processor of the Sony OLED offering, it still does a great job at providing good quality 4K video with natural colors. The operating system is another matter. With a scattered assortment of screens showing available apps. It is just too disorganized. One issue that I have, is with volume muting: it mutes both the TV speakers and the headphones at the same time. So, when I use my headphones, I have to turn the TV volume down to 0, since muting will affect the headphones too.

Like most consumers I did lots of research to buy the right T.V. to fill my needs. The Sony Bravia OLED had great reviews and met all the criteria I was looking for. After an easy set up I have been enjoying the picture quality and streaming shows on it daily. I recently hooked up an XBOX and tried playing but am suffering from what I have diagnosed to be a bit of Input Lag. Still looking for a solution for this and I hope there is one. I look forward to enjoying this T.V. for many years to come!

At first, the TV was awesome. After about 2 weeks we started seeing a Thin blue Vertical line that would stretch down the screen when ever certain shades of blue were present. The line would disappear if there wasn’t any blue in the picture but continued to come back when there was blue. Ultimately, We went back to Best Buy, and explained what we were experiencing, showed them some videos we had taken. I was expecting this to be a nightmare, but everyone that we dealt with was super helpful. They told us to bring the TV back and they would replace it, and that’s exactly what we did. No hassle. While having to take the TV off the wall, packing it up, and taking it back to the store was inconvenient, Best Buy provided the best possible experience for us. We appreciate that and our new TV is working great.

Went in looking to buy a Samsung and bought this Sony instead. So far this tv is great, it has the best picture I have seen on any tv and has a lot of features. The one thing I don't like is the remote, I like the Samsung remote a lot better. The remote buttons are placed in the wrong spots I think. The commonly used buttons are placed far apart and not within reach of each other so you have to move your hand around on the remote instead of just moving your thumb.

Went to Best Buy and bought a sound bar for an old 42” tv. Then decided to upgrade the tv. Returned the sound bar and bought a 49” Sony tv and matching sound bar. Picture was so good we decided it needed to be bigger to be appreciated. Back to Best Buy and exchanged everything for a 65” Sony A8g Oled 4K tv. Wow! The sound projects from the screen and is so clear. The picture is perfect. Well worth the investment. With all this said, the best part of our decision making and buying process was our salesman at the Savannah, Ga store, Michael K. His knowledge and assistance was extremely helpful. He was patient and eager to make sure we made an informed decision. Exchanging our purchases for what we eventually bought was easy. Best Buy may have the products, however when they have sales people like Michael K. they rise above any completion out there. Well done Best Buy and Michael K!
