AMAZING PICTURE, but poor 5% gray uniformity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a Sony A8F for a year, but my house got struck by lightning and the TV received hardware damage. Insurance covered the cost of the new tv. I originally went with the LG C9, but returned it because of the motion processing. Sony just handles motion and images much better. My A8G was delivered 5 days ago. I immediately put on Skyfall (SDR and 1080p) and it looked fantastic. I then tried out Blade Runner 2049, which is where the uniformity issues became apparent. The opening scenes of the film are drenched in darkness. This put the bands of irregularly colored gray on full display. Now that it has been seen, I can't unsee it. I am planning on exchanging it for another A8G or upgrading to the A9G. Bottom line: the picture quality is absolutely amazing. Although the OS is not great, the picture quality just cannot be matched. If you do buy any OLED tv, check the 1-10% uniformity. If it isn't great to perfect, exchange it. This is part of playing the panel lottery - it is necessary for the best quality image, and at this price you should get near perfection.

Outstanding TV!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased this TV and it is amazing.I had an LG Oled and after 3 yrs. ,....it had gotten to the point of terrible burn-in problem, which I will admit was mostly my fault of watching News channels all day with there Logo at the bottom of the screen. Now I know what not to do! This new Sony is unbeleavable The picture and sound is by far the winner over an LG.

Posted .Hi, Tony1946!
We are happy to hear you are enjoying your A8G BRAVIA OLED TV! With our OLED TV, you get to enjoy 8 million individual pixels that deliver absolute black levels and an amazingly sharp picture. The TV utilizes our X1 Extreme Processor for an incredibly realistic image with vibrant color and dramatic contrast, and it upscales everything to get close to 4K HDR.
Thanks for choosing Sony!

Life of TV - 2.5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a great TV while it lasted, but after 2.5 years it is throwing errors and can't be repaired, so it has to be replaced. It is essentially a large rock in my living room now.

Wonderful when it works.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV right before the Men’s World Cup. It was great - but exactly two years from purchase - completely broken. Doesn’t turn on. Turns off in the middle of the movie. Don’t think it’s overheating - just sucks. Unfortunately did not buy the extended warranty. Honestly, not worth the money for a two year TV. Next time I’ll buy something below $800. Not as good quality but lasts longer.

Disappointing SONY TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony pushed a Anroid update to TV that bricked it. No service Centers in Illinois?? Sony has no support network and refused to help with repair.
