Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * stunning picture, absolute champ * out of the box calibrated picture quality * amazing picture upscaling from lower resolutions * built in wifi and ethernet * sensitie ATSC tuner * easy to learn and use Android Home menu Cons: * runs only few dozens of selected android apps * can't adjust pre-amp volume for streaming services individually * changing input name impossible once set initially * poor user manual * no SlingPlayer app support (streaming app) This tv set replaced my decade old Samsung LCD. The difference in picture is vast, it's a night and day. The Android allows installing only Sony approved selected apps. Sadly one of most important for me SlingPlayer app is not one of them (don't confuse it with Sling app). But picture is amazing, I started to rediscover all my movies including bluray as well as streamed from multiple services apps I installed including Hulu, HBO, AmzPrime. Fairly easy to setup, once you get to know OS, it becomes natural to customize home screen to optimize access to your favorite services. I tried both network connections, Ethernet and WiFi work just fine. TV responds to remote commands almost instantly with minimal or no lag. Apps load fast and streaming is instant (I have 1000Mbps internet link). TV support 24Hz framerate. Interestingly I have not noticed option to adjust motion blur. But tv does the job great with no visible frame stutter in fast moving motion scenes. One annoying thing is lack of way to change input name once it's assigned initially. And the user manual describes only installation and wall mounting procedure, lacking typical operation.of hw and menus. I also noticed different volume level between different streaming services. For example the HBO app volume is very low forcing me to crank up the tv volume beyond 60 to make it audible, while AmzPrime and Hulu achieve same volume level at 20-30. Sony or HBO need to address it. Overall amazing tv set definetely worth every penny despite of few small nuisances. Highly recommemded. You won't be dissapointed.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased from Best Buy about three weeks ago. Actually the one I bought is the XR-65A80J . I suppose this is the same one. They seem to alter the numbers frequently. I decided on this model for many reasons: My previous set was excellent but it was about five years older. In fact, I called it a stupid - smart TV. It could not do what the newer models do. Also it was attached to the rear of my TV consule (inside) and could not get behind the TV to add or replace items. Also the sound reverberated though that piece of furniture. This newer model has the speakers behind the screen and would avoid that problem. This newer model can stand on feet so that I can move the set to get to the rear. This TV far surpasses my older TV. HOWEVER, Sony should have included some simple technological additions. It is almost impossible to switch between my audio system (surround-sound or home theater) and the TV speakers. The older TV had that ability. It is very difficult to use my blue tooth headphones and lower the TV volume. great if my wife wants to read or answer the phone. I have actually disconnected the audio from the TV and had to set it back to factory restart. Also add the model and serial number on a little stick-on at the front of the TV. WRITE IT DOWN before you set up the TV with a piece of furniture.

Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions nothing worked. TV is dead. Cost $1000 a year to have. What a waste of money very disappointed in Sony expected better. Will never buy another Sony. Just overpriced junk.

TV reboots Android everytime you turn it on causing you to wait 2 minute while it's loading every single time. Doesn't work well with HDMI ARC with non-sony sound bars, can't lower sound bar volume using the Sony remote. Feel free to Google these issues before you buy this expensive TV. Disappointing.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice picture, has the power and has everything a TV can have...but here is my problem and it's huge because I'm a gamer, and I've played Playstation since they started with ps1...matter of fact I have bought just about every version of Playstation from ps5 to ps4 pro to ps4, ps3 etc...I buy the white ones the moment I can just because I like white...like I always do when the newest consoles come out,, i go out and buy the the TVs that can handle them, usually samsung until now...I decided why not the newest sony oled, why WOULDNT they make the TV to work best with there very own consoles...WRONG...now I'm watching a TV that can't handle 120 fps through hdmi lol...stupid right? I thought so too, now I gotta wait for the LG CX to come back in stock cause it seems like only LG understands a oled should have hdmi 2.1 inputs considering they advertise 120 refresh rate and all, just like Sony does btw...im not disappointed, im heated at Sony for this...I aint got time to be swapping tvs as it is now I gotta do it twice...its very shocking to say the least, thank god for best buy being the best place for electronics, only best buy would let you have 90 days to return tv products for refund...best buy is hands down the greatest retail store in the country

Of course, after all of the "Oled tv in a bright room..." warnings in almost EVERY review I read, I admit to a certain amount of hand wringing. Well, woory no more. Mine is in a moderately well lit room, and it's perfect; I'm talking out of the box "custom" setting. I actually don't know what all the hubbub is about. Any brighter and it would be washed out. My advice to anyone would be, If you're considering the A8H, don't fear a well lit room. Enjoy !!!
