It's a Sony OLED. Enough said. Not the brightest TV but in a moderately lit space, it shines.

Awesome TV. I set the picture to my taste and it looks as realistic as it gets. Sound is impressive, it really doesn't need a soundbar for casual watching. I do have a full home theater in the basement, but I watch Bravia* the most. I did look at LG and Samsung, both good, but Sony has the edge in my view. Most realistic processing in my opinion.

I just love the clarity of this TV. I’m so glad I upgraded. I thought Sony was a brand like Apple and they never go on sale. Well, I went back to the store 1 week after I saw it at the store and to my surprise, it was $200 cheaper!! I’m so happy

Love love love!!!!!! I went from a Vizio 65 inch and you can’t compare Sony to Vizio. You can see every didn’t cut make up line imperfection in someone’s face with this television going to buy another one but a 85 inch for my living room.

Sony 65” XR 8 OLED the Best Buy for a great family room TV. Great quality picture and descent sound through the screen. Have had both Samsung and Sony products. I just love this TV put my 55 “ in the Bedroom looking forward to College Football Playoffs. Had Geek Squad installation. Great service from getting picked out in store to up and running beautifully. Best Buy makes it all so easy.

Im very happy with this purchase. The image quality of this tv is something else. It also have great features. Easy to navigate through the menu. Plus the fact that it haves 4 HDMI ports its just amazing.

I upgraded from a Sony X900f and this TV makes me say wow Everytime I watch it. Amazing picture, perfect blacks. It is plenty bright for an OLED even during the day. I love this TV and Sony TV's in general.

Bravia 8 will not turn ON when off overnight.

I am writing a 1-star review about the power-on issue with my THREE different, recently delivered Sony Bravia 8's. At the bottom of this review, I will talk about the 5-star experience I have had with the Bravia 8 and the Best Buy Total membership.
The issue is that if the TV is turned off (using the power button on the remote), and sits idle for several hours, it will not turn on again by using the remote or by pressing the mechanical power button under the TV. There are two ways to get it to turn back on:
1. Unplug it and re-plug it back in. Wait about 15 seconds until you hear the sound of a relay clicking, then use the power button on the remote to turn it on.
2. Leave the TV plugged in. Press and hold the mechanical power button under the TV for about 40 seconds. Release the button. Wait until you hear the relay click two times. Then use the power button on the remote to turn it on.
Best Buy exchanged my Sony Bravia 8 three times over the course of three weeks. All three TV's have the same issue. Here are the steps that I have taken to troubleshoot it:
1. I have tried using different power outlets in my home on different circuits and the problem persists.
2. I have gone into the Eco Dashboard and disabled all three features which will automatically turn off the TV. These are the inactivity timeouts and the no-signal timeouts. I set all three of them to "NEVER".
3. I have updated the TV to the latest software.
I want to keep the TV because the picture is outstanding and I love Google TV. In comparison, I have tried and disliked the more expensive Samsung S95D. I thought that the colors on the Samsung were too saturated by default, and the Tizen OS was an utter mess.
Since I want to keep the TV, here is my WORKAROUND for eliminating the power-on issue: In normal everyday use, NEVER TURN IT OFF. Just turn the picture off. Using the remote, there is a "quick setting" control whereby you can turn off the picture with just two button presses. (See the attached photo.)
This is akin to turning off the monitor on a desktop computer. The power consumption is minimal. Probably about the same as turning off the TV since a TV continues to consume power even when turned off.
This seems to me like an issue with the power circuitry, as though some timer kicks in or an electrical charge builds up on the capacitors. I am thinking that there might be a software fix for this. I would be glad to work with Sony on diagnosing the issue. (Best Buy does not really troubleshoot this sort of thing. They will just swap it out.)

Always been a samsung user but i gave this one a shot and i love it. Awesome tv! great clear image. I got the 65” oled 2024 and it doesnt disappoint. Tv speakers are very good also for what it is.

We’ve dealt with Best Buy for several years. They are courteous and definitely on the ball. We got our brava 65 inch TV at Christmas time and if you want a great picture this is the one for you. Even my dog watches TV now!
