Mostly good, poor menu and difficult timer set-up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is an excellent TV - great picture and sound is very good, too. My only complaint evolves around the remote and the menu. The menu selections on the remote are not intuitive and after 3 months I still push the wrong buttons to find what I am looking for. The menu uses weird names. But, the worst thing on this TV, and I have never seen this missing on any other TV, is there is no sleep timer on the remote. It is a multi-step process to find in in the menu controls. Had I known this ahead of time, it could have been a deal breaker for me.

Flickering already
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved it for 3 weeks, then the screen started to flicker right before our 4th of July party. Called total tech support that I paid extra for...no help at all. Went back to Best Buy, wasted an hour and a half before finding out I could get it replaced...in a week and a half. Not happy

Sony 65 inch 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn’t last 3 years and boom... Best Buy suggested I buy a new tv because the cost to fix it would be more than to purchase a new 65 inch tv. Will not be buying another item from best buy

TV stopped working after only two years.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's very disappointing when a TV stops working after two years. We were told by the rep at the store that this was one of the best TVs that we could get.

LOVE IT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought the TV yesterday and had it set up last night and I watched a few movies on it and I will say I am truly happy with this TV other then the power cord being a little short for my room. The color and everything is truly fantastic and I will say it beat my 55inch Samsung Curved and tied with my LG 65. Great tv guys!

Bad product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV from Bestbuy in Philadelphia. The tv can't turn on again. It has been with me for just 7 months. If you're looking for this tv, please don't buy this Sony specification. If you went ahead, you will be disappointed like me.

Amazing 4K HDR TV!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony TV is an amazing mid-range 4K TV for the price point. I bought it on sale for $1,500 a few weeks back and I'm glad I did since it has gone back up to $1,700 again. The picture quality is truly amazing, black and white levels are perfect in bright and dark conditions and the wide range of colors look stunning and realistic. When watching HDR content, the HDR10 option maximizes all of the colors and the quality produced without making it look fake or unrealistic. The 4K upscaling on this TV is perfect (much better than other TVs in the $2,000+ range). I've watch several 1080p blu-rays and the picture quality is amazing. This Sony TV is hands down the best TV I've owned so far and couldn't be any more pleased with it.

Bad !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still paying on tv and still not a year old yet and it crapped out on me... Wish I could return it instead of doing the warranty. Worst decision ever and can't believe I tried something different! Should have stuck with Samsung .

Family TV
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a great TV until the HDMI stoped working. Now it glitches while on the internet as well. After spending that much money on a TV after two years I’m going to need to buy a new one again.

5 stars for what it is; Loving Android TV!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get it straight. This isn't a flagship top of the line 4K tv. If you're comparing this to a $3000 set, don't. They're not in the same class. But apparently even when compared to the pricier mid-range models, this particular model (XBR65x850E) and year (2017) set from Sony is spectacular. I won't quote specs, you can easily research those but I will echo and confirm what most online reviews say about this set: It's probably the best entry level 4K. The blacks are deep and true. It's also true that a bit more oompf! to the brightness would be beneficial. I eventually outfitted a pair of JBL studio monitors for the sound, but the stock speakers are without a doubt surprisingly good. It's downright phenomenal when you consider how beautifully thin this TV is... and it's a beauty - it's the main reason I went with this model. I think it was thinnest model I could find at this price point. Obviously it's gonna need outboard sound for watching movies but it's good enough to leave those off if you're just listening to the news or something like a cooking show. But the main reason I'm writing this review is to give some comments on Android TV. While it's absolutely true that there's a bit of a response time issue to remote control inputs sometimes (hopefully they've corrected this in newer models), I've found that using a wireless usb keyboard with a touchpad (I bought a popular one for only $20) really boosts the effectiveness of the OS. This is directly related to another criticism I read that stated Android TV sucked and that it was too geared towards acting like a tablet instead of a TV. This is certainly true if you're using it through traditional inputs, e.g. cable tv with only a remote control to navigate. BUT if you're like me and have been using multiple screens forever with your TV as an additional monitor, you would probably appreciate the connectivity here. If you're streaming everything and tend to have a tablet/laptop/phone nearby, you can control all your streaming accounts through each of your devices and have it play on tv. Yes that's not particularly new, but I feel like AndroidTV made that process smoother and more intuitive, providing multiple wireless connectivity options through chromecast, screen mirroring or apps on your device (e.g. netflix, youtube). And it should be noted that I sense much less processing lag from these kind of inputs. I admit, the more Google'centric your technology setup is the more useful this setup would probably feel but for those who are stream-based, I wouldn't shy away from it. Particularly those with Android devices. (btw, initial setup for all your media accounts is a breeze by just signing into your Google account) Hope you enjoy this TV!!

Best 4K TV for the money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After buying 2 Samsung 4k Tvs over the past 2 years, they both ended up breaking (one within 5 days of purchase). Because Samsung's quality and customer support is going down hill, I decided to try out this Sony and I am sure glad I did! The picture quality is far superior to Samsung's 8000 series. Black levels are perfect and motion rate is great. You will not find a better tv within a $750 price difference.

Best TV ever purchased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this TV more than a yr. We chose this TV as it has the 4K X-Reality Pro and lower value Sony's don't, even though they are 4K. The picture is truly awesome. No other brand comes close, PERIOD. Once you get used to the platform, it is quite easy to use. One thing, if you have an older DVD or blu-ray player, you will need to upgrade to one that has "up-scaling" or you won't see the awesome advantages of this TV. It will seem like other high end TV's. When we did this, WOW!! We also made sure our player would update to the new 4K movies so we wouldn't need to purchase a new unit down the road. We got a higher end Sony player, and again, it's amazing how well that up-scaling does with plain DVD's, though they still don't compare to blu-ray. All in all, I would buy this TV over n over again. WE LOVE IT!!!!!

Nice Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. However, as others have noted, using the Sony remote can be frustrating as it is slow to use to bring up other features or even t.v. menu. Also, despite repeated programming, it wont turn sound bar on with t.v.. Turns it off fine though. I use cable remote and cable service provided menus to select channels or scroll thru what is on. Also have had several occasions of t.v. turning itself on. I have woken up in the middle of the night hearing voices and found t..v. on (turns sound bar on when it turns itself on!). I have also come home from work and found t.v. on. Weird, and a little annoying. But picture is very nice!
