I bought this tv for my wife's Christmas present. It has issues including the following: Apps lock up (specifically Sling when fast forwarding) Remote is poorly designed and not responsive Processor is too slow on Ultra 4k movies Google voice doesn't work 60% of the time I will likely take it back and get a Samsung or LG.

Great picture. Easy setup. Bought on sale. Probably would not have bought a full price. Paid $1499. Fair price. Overpriced at $1999.

The best tv I've owned. Previously, had been a Samsung fan, not Sony. But, this tv changed my mind. Great picture. Excellent color quality. The Android TV OS was a little quirky. I preferred using a Roku stick with the tv and my yamaha receiver. But, recently, the OS updated and feels more like the new Google TV OS. I use it now, through ARC, with my receiver. Excellent. No issues.

Not smart enough but vast upgrade to 2000 era HDTV

Love it in every way, does NOT need a sound bar unless you do music and such, easy enough for a man to assemble, mount on stand alone but not on wall. Remote does EVERYTHING (minor exceptions) and gets A+ ... Minor flaws: 1. will not do Closed Caption via cable box - refers you to box, which also does not support CC in our case 2. era 2000 HDTV received channels via our dual antennas, THIS one can't even get the large local channel so strong a signal many have to buy a trap so its signal won't overrun other weaker signals ... most use indoor rabbit ears to get this strong signal ... THIS TV = nothing (although when auto scanning, finds 16 channels, none get displayed) Recommended only b/c of price, remote, picture Q, sound

I was looking for a 65" 4k UHD HDR tv. I ended up buying Vizio M65-E0. I hated it and returned it. I went to Best buy store and Best Buy home theater rep. suggested to go with Sony - 65" Class (64.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range. Overall i love the quality and functions of this TV. There are couple things that i don't like 1. huge remote Sony need to improve their remotes as compared to Samsung and LG they have nice tv remotes. 2. When using smart tv functions, changing apps, tv slows down a lot. sometime i have to wait long time to get it back on home screen. overall i like this tv much better than vizio.

Came from a samsung 4k TV and I've got to say this TV blew it out of the water. I do a lot of gaming so the reps recommended sony for my gaming needs. Im glad i went with sony, looks fantastic. The 4k movies on it are amazing. Love the fact I can put kodi directly on the TV.

Once again Sony stands behind its product and reputation . I did a lot of research and my top three was Sony, Samsung and Vizio. I visited Best Buy several times, got to see the TVs picture and talk with different associates and they keep coming back to Sony. I was in between the XRB65X850 and X900. It came down to budget. The difference between both of them is small (IMO). Excellent TV for the price.

Great apps, Nice Design, unfortunately DSE issues

I purchased this Sony unit after reading really good reviews for the set online. Also we have a number of Sony flat-panels at work. The Sony uses an Android operating system and it is a quick easy setup on your Android device and a connection to your Google account if you have one. Unfortunately I had to swap out this TV not once but twice and eventually ended up changing to a different brand. The problem was dirty screen effect or DSE. The first set I got had extreme DSE, there was a darker 'blob' in the center of the screen that was very evident in sporting events and bright images. There was also 2 - 3 vertical grey bands present also visible during sporting events or bright screens. We took the first unit back and got a replacement and the grey blob was definitely gone in the second set (it reminded me of dust trapped under a screen protector on a smartphone). The 2nd set was much better but after a few days we noticed another set of two grey vertical bands, again on sporting events like hockey. Even my wife could see them without having to point them out. I could say 'do you see them?' and she could walk up and point them out on her own. Maybe some people don't see them but once you see them they can't be unseen. We came from a Sharp Aquos that had a flawless picture and we ended up switching after the 2nd swap to a Samsung MU8 series which has a perfect screen on it.

I purchased this TV after using my Sony Bravia 40" HDTV for nine years. I chose Sony because of the success and longevity I got out of my previous TV. The picture is clear. The motion is smooth. The display is bright. I'm extremely happy with the TV overall. Much better than last years 750d and pretty close to the 900e.

    Defective TV Stand

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had to have two separate TV's delivered to my home. The TV stand on both sets was defective. They delivered the first TV and it tilted toward the back, due to a bad TV stand. They replaced the TV two weeks later and the TV stand they delivered with the second TV, was also defective. The second TV also tilted backward, though not as bad as the first TV. The manufacturer MUST address this issue. I thought the TV panel on each TV was warped, but, they were not. I carefully inspected each TV panel and the panels were perfectly straight. It is definitely a problem with the TV stand that comes with the TV. The delivery techs on each delivery agreed that each TV tilted backward enough to be noticeable. The TV itself is gorgeous and the picture quality is the best in the business. The images are so crystal clear on this 65" Sony Bravia 4K HDTV, that they are almost 3D-like. I (my family, too) have owned Sony TV's for almost 60 years and they still are the industry standard. Al the major TV News organizations use Sony TV monitors. That tells you all you need to know, as to who makes the best TV's in the world. I would have given the rating 5 stars if the TV stand (s) functioned properly. I have "propped up" the rear legs on the TV stand with some rubber washers to "level" it off. However, I am still considering returning this TV.

The Android OS does not run native at 4k

Hi, Very disappointed to find out the OS on this TV does not run native at 4k but at 1080p that later gets Upscale to 4K by TV. Youtube video not full 4k :-(. Android TV was the only reason I chose this TV over the Samsung UN65KS8000. But at this point, I'm returning this TV back to the store. And you should know which one I will be getting. I have the nvidea shield 4k connected via HDMI and you can tell the diference,,,!!!

I was hoping for better from Sony....

Overall, it's a decent set as far as clarity, sound, etc. You can see reviews from others on fine details. I will elaborate on the no-so-hot stuff, here. 1) The screen does have brighter areas all around the outside of the screen (particularly in the corners...very noticeable during black or dark scenes. 2) You may be enjoying a BD or cable, but if someone just happens to turn on another input (maybe an XBox, or the like) it will auto-switch to that input without so much as a "by your leave". Majorly annoying! 3) Google play constantly pops-up saying "sorry...googleplay not available" even though I never wanted it or use it. Another interruption to movies, TV or games.... 4) The screen could give you epilepsy during dark scenes...it nearly strobes back and forth from a darker setting to a brighter setting....obviously it's the TV trying to be "smart" and auto-adjust contrast for the dark scene...I can't figure out how to stop this...played with settings in every regard. REALLY terribly annoying. These 4 things have made me re-consider my preference for Sony, and honestly it's had me on the cusp of bring this TV back. The LG we have seems a bit better on the 4k pictures, and has very few quirks...may become my "go to" manufacturer of TVs after this experience.

Best bang for the buck for a good 4K HDR set

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I spent a lot of time researching 4K sets and this one wins hands down in terms of bang for the buck. Sure the 900E and 930E look a LITTLE better with local dimming and better 4K processing chip. But not $500 to $1000 more better. This is the real sweet spot, providing all the key features you want on a 4K set and Sony's best of class color rendering and upscaling capabilities. But there are few caveats. Be aware that the out of the box settings are, in my view, mediocre. Spend some time playing with the picture settings and you will get a much better picture. Two easy fixes are to turn off the ambient light sensor, which produces a muddy picture in some lighting conditions, and switch the color tone setting from neutral to coo (in the standard setting)l. Just those two things help a lot. And of course you need to make sure all your streaming devices and cables are up to the 4K spec to get the correct 4K HDR magnificence. One nice thing about this set is most of the apps you needed are built in, including Playstation Vue. So great choice for cord cutters. Nice fast dual band AC streaming is built in. No streaming box really needed. Yeah, the Android TV implementation is not the best and can be slow and clunky at times. But it's functional enough and gets the job done. I am using the ARC HDMI connection and high end soundbar that looks and sounds great. No issues. Also be aware these panels are very fragile so be extra careful in unpacking and handling. Especially if wall mounting. I see lots of failures in the reviews and expect a lot of them can be attributed to rough handling.

Oh man this TV is slow. There has been a recent update but after the update its still slow and laggy but now random apps crash. A window pops up saying Netflix or Hulu crashed while Im not even using the App. The remote is so unresponsive! I see a light on the TV indicating a button on the remote was pressed but then nothing happens. The voice command is still a joke. It is so frustrating, the smart TV functions are so slow. When changing the volume with the remote it doesn't respond initially then jumps by a lot. Oh man its annoying.

We picked this TV to replace the bad quality of 60" LG 4K TV. This TV turned to be very good quality in picture, way much better than LG TV that we had. We had another old Sony DLP TV that for more than 20 years. I hope this TV will last longer. Love this TV.

If you are looking for a great high quality TV, this is it. I am very much a gamer and this has been one of if not the best TV I have ever purchased. My only draw back with it is the Apps function can be a little slower to run then my Samsung was.

Purchased XBR-65850D in August 2016. Backlight has failed only 16 months later. I did not buy an extended warranty - after all, it was a Sony. Contacted Sony Customer Service & Relations.. Their response boiled down to "sorry for any inconvenience, but you're past the 365 day warranty, so we are unable to help you with the repair". Basically, a $1,000 repair is needed to my under 1 1/2 year old tv that cost me $1,800. I am very disappointed that Sony is not a company that will stand behind it's products. My biggest regret is that I had recently recommended the Sony Bravia tv product line to my son-in-law, who has now purchased one (75"). I hope he has better luck with his than I did.
