Best Buy falls short
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV just before Christmas thinking that Sony being a premium brand would be a wise buy. The TV has randomly turned off while you are watching. Some times it goes for hours with no problem then other times it will shut off twice in an evening. It will run fine for days then it has an issue. I try to be patient so I tried following the instructions on the Sony site for this issue. So I finally went to Best Buy to see if I could get this justified since it had been happening since we first received the TV. "Oh you just missed our return window so you will have to deal with Sony warranty service". Appealed to manager but she just shrugged her shoulders. I can put up with it occasionally turning off but I can only see this heading to where it will not stay on.

Totally Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this tv 1 yr and 3 weeks ago, and up until today would have rated an easy 5*. a cpl months ago i noticed colored lines appearing on the left side of screen which ran from the top of the screen all the way to the bottom. i shut the tv off and turned it back on and the issue went away. it didnt return until last night, and now stays that way all of the time. i contacted support, and did a fact reset to no avail. i was told i needed to download the newest software, and was provided a link which doesnt work. i bought this tv because of all my previous purchases with sony have been outstanding and never had any quality issues. that fact this tv is broken 3 weeks beyond the warranty floors me.at this point i doubt i will ever buy anything made by sony again. change my mind plz sony

Glitching, Lagging, Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Glitches, lags, and have never been able to get a clear picture out of this tv, regardless of how much money was spent on ultra fast HD HDMI cables, streaming devices, nor fast internet. It’s a joke that Sony put an inferior Ethernet receptacle, resulting in a 500+MBPS hardwired connection receiving less than 24 MBPS, so instead we bog down our bandwidth, Sony TV still only pulls 170-250 MBPS AND STILL GLITCHES worse than a dial up connection. Grotesque wast of money and will never buy another Sony product,

17 months old and quit

Tried all the recommended resets and nothing. Best Buy says most likely issue is the board. Best Buy says I'm screwed because I didn't buy service plan. The Geek Squad said they can't help me. I didn't ask for it to be fixed for free, just if they could fix it for me since I bought it there (Over $1200.00) and the tech said no. We have several TVs in home (4). This one is the newest, the most expensive, and the first to quit. Going back to a LG and buying it a my local TV shop. No matter how good the picture may have been, a blank screen isn't good.

System On A Chip failure at 35 months

They refer you to a website of basic questions and answers. I had done all the rebooting and learned it was all for nothing because a Sony repair tech determined a new SoC is needed. After that you have to update the firmware and hope it all comes together. The SoC replacement is $600. Based on the reviews showing something else is about due to fail it seems risky to invest more money in this set. The crazy thing is that Consumer Reports rates 4K Sony tv as very reliable. I'll be reporting this one to them and suggest that others begin doing so.

Picture quality at the store is amazing. Terrible once you get it home. Last Sony product I will ever buy unless I get this working right fast. Could not recommend this TV to anyone.

Don't buy a Sony!

First one had a burnt out pixel right in the middle of the screen, (you can easily see this when you watched a hockey game with the white ice showing the burnt out pixel) and the 2nd TV died 2 years later. T-Con board issue, (giant grey line running up and down on the screen.) When I talked to Geek Squad about repairing it , they believe the entire board will need to be replaced meaning, it gonna be near the same price as a new TV. When I discussed this with Sony, they don't stand by their products and recommended I get it repaired. Its a poor quality product so stay away from all Sony TV products!!!

Picture good, audio issues

When paused or deleting a saved show the TV will audio will pop. I had Spectrum out to my house yesterday and swapped the box 3 times and changed the HDMI cable to no avail. I have had this tv for less than one week. I am having a replacement tv delivered this weekend. If the problem persists I will return it and buy a new brand

Broke After one Year

Then, after one year, the screen would only show green and pink stripes. And of course this happened after the warranty had expired. Very angry that I dropped $1600 on a TV that broke after a year. I have two samsung TVs that are going on eight years each. Guess I should have stuck to the samsung.

We called Sony and they won't do any thing about it so not we have a $1700 garbage tv. NEVER OWNING SONY PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN.

Piece of crap
