This tv replaced my 55-inch Vizio e55-c1. The Sony definitely has much, much more detail...you could even see actors’ blemishes and uneven skin tones due to makeup failure LOL.I’m watching the same shows and movies I already watched on the Vizio, and it’s as if I’m seeing it all for the first time since the details that could be seen now were non-existent on my previous display. It was a toss-up between the 750d and the 800e, and upon seeing the difference between the two in store, I chose the better display. Wish I had more to spend on the 900e, but I need to save funds for Christmas shopping. I took off 1 star due to random “choppiness”... it may or may not be due to the Internet. Great TV nonetheless!

We have loved our TV so far! It is fairly easy to use and has many apps available. We had ours mounted above the fireplace.

Great Picture! Was a Panasonic fan for a long time but reliability became an issue. Hopefully this Sony will last longer!

have bought Panasonic plasma in the past. since they don't make them anymore thought I would try sony.. beautiful picture.

Superb video quality... and the high dynamic range helps a lot that you do not have to worry where you position your tv.

Since purchasing my TV I'm enjoying it the colors great and pictures fantastic.

So far the TV performance was ok. But the way their apps was set up was so awful. Using their remote control to configure and navigating around the system was not user friendly. It took me sometime and a call from technical support to resolve the issue. I spend more hours trying to figure out how to change account in the google play app than enjoying watching movies. I am saying these because in comparison with my experience with LG using their magic remote its quite easy and very user friendly. It didn't take that much effort to learn the tricks in navigating around the TV's operating system. Unlike, with Sony, even with their voice command does not par with LG's pointer remote. I wish Sony can come up with something way better remote and navigating system than what they have right now. You will have to.keep switching different remotes to use your other equipment with it. So if you are someine who just like to watch but doesn not uses the remote Sony will do, but if you are somewhat tech savvy better opt for LG.

Had a 49" version of this tv for past year and loved it. Bigger TV is only better than the 49". No complaints with setup

So I decided that I wanted a 65 inch TV and I did have a price in mind of about $1000 dollars. I read the reviews online as well as making a trip to my local BestBuy store. This happened prior to Superbowl and I am glad that I personally went into the store to see for myself what I could expect and mostly to compare picture versus price. The sales associate was very helpful and I also hung around and listened to what others had to say as they were trying to make a decision. I was gonna settle for a cheaper priced model of the Sony that I was interested in but am glad I waited and went home to think about it and study the specs a little closer. I finally decided on the Sony XBR65X850E for just $100 more than I intended on spending. Well I am very pleased with my purchase. As soon as I plugged it in all my components worked like never before! The difference was a smart TV just made my life alot easier. This TV does everything you expect it to and the picture quality is perfect. The sale price for Superbowl week was $1100 and it is everything I needed and looks nice on my wood cabinet too!!!

Although this is not the top of the line Sony, the picture is very high quality. The brightness and clarity is perfect.

I have only had the tv for a week but so far so good, Bought the Sony after some bad experiences with a Samsung with no response from inquiries to them. Liked this set because of blacker blacks.

Set up was simple. Does require 2 people to place on stand. Directions was matter of following on screen instruction.

Glad we bought this excellent TV. Installation, personal, a snap; very user-friendly. Totally recommend this product.

Sony XBR 850e is a good midrange tv, however I decided to upgrade to 900e for additional $300. 900 is in my opinion the best tv you can buy for up to $2k. For $1200 XBR 850 is still a good buy.
