    Don’t Get This TV

    We have issues with this tv since day 1. It randomly turns off on its own while watching. It stops responding to the remote. Wish we would have bought a different tv. I wouldn’t recommend this tv.

      We are sorry to hear that the TV randomly turns off on its own and the remote stops responding. This is definitely not the viewing experience we want you to have with our premium TVs. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn your experience around.



      Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.

      A network or broadcast update may have a problem that could be resolved by resetting the power of the TV.
      Turn off the TV, unplug the power cord for two minutes, then turn on the TV
      Restart the TV with the supplied remote control: Press and hold the POWER button until Power off appears on the screen
      Make sure the power cord is plugged in all the way.
      Press the POWER button on the TV (not the button on the remote) to turn it on. If the TV turns on, the batteries in the remote may need to be replaced or there may be a problem with the remote control.
      Replace the batteries in the remote control and check if the problem persists. This tests whether the remote is malfunctioning, rather than the TV.
      Cover the remote sensor on the TV to check if the remote control is sending continuous commands to the TV.
      Disconnect all external devices from the TV (USB, LAN connection, HDMI® connection, Antenna, etc.) except the power cord and turn the TV on. If the TV turns on and stays on, reconnect the devices one at a time until you find the device that's causing the issue.
      Follow these procedures if the TV turns on or off at regular intervals such as 30 minutes to an hour, or if the TV turns on or off when an HDMI-connected device is powered on or off:
      If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer.
      If the TV turns on or off when an HDMI-connected device is powered on or off, check the Bravia Sync settings.
      Turn off the Wi-Fi® function of the TV.
      Update the TV software to the latest version.
      Reset the TV to the original factory settings.

    So far I hate this TV. The picture is beautiful but the TV turns off in its own. It turns right back on but a pain. The wifi is constantly disconnecting and you have to restart the TV to fix it. Trying to give it a little more time but so far...I Really Hate It.

    Broken after 3 months and Support is a joke

    I bought this tv September 12. It no longer streams apps like Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and YouTubeTv. After 4+ hours with tech support guiding me through the same list of steps it still doesn't work, and Sony has 'escalated' my case to engineering which means every three days someone calls and asks me to perform the same steps, then again says they will escalate my issue to engineering and call back within three days. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A TV THAT WILL BREAK WITHIN THREE MONTHS.

    Audio cuts out intermittently through my sony soundbar ht-z9f, every 10-20 minutes you can either wait a few minutes to come back on or switch to tv audio then back, there are massive amounts of complaints online about this and sony has done nothing except promise a fix for the last 6-8 months. I am bummed that I didn’t find the complaints before buying the tv, obviously I have tried all the work arounds but am not willing to sacrifice dolby digital for a “fix”.

    Not true 4K 120hz

    False advertising. I was excited to be finally getting a good price on a tv with true 4K 120hz. The software updates they have promised to deliver this have not lived up to expectations and there is a big blue issue affecting everyone. Do not buy this tv, at least do some research on this issue, I will be returning it and waiting another year for the next series of tvs to come out. Very disappointed especially because they sold this as PS5 ready.

    Warning: Don’t buy this lemon!

    Purchased this TV in November 2020 and now it doesn’t turn on. First, there was. I sound coming out of the TV when using the app interface then when I tried to reset it using the remote, it never came on. Thankfully we paid for the Geek Squad Protection Plan as it seems the problem may be the motherboard. When I asked about getting a replacement instead of waiting 10 days until they can get the parts and come out to fix it, the customer service rep said Sony doesn’t allow it. I will NEVER buy another Sony again. Avoid this TV and this brand at all costs United you have money to burn.

    Paid for a new TV, but was given a used one. Already had someone else’s Netflix account saved to it, the protective plastic was not on the screen, and the batteries were installed in the remote upon opening. Very upset.

    Purchased the TV a little over a month ago for my newphews first apartment since there was a great sale going on. Noticed finally when we opened it (little past a month) that the LED screen has flashing led puttages on it. Hoping BestBuy will make an exception due to these circumstances on warrentying it out for replacing it. Very upset, seemed like a great TV despite the defective parts.

    Picture quality is okay. However, the sound is terrible. Audio can lag as much as 5 seconds after the video. This occurs almost nightly. Sometimes it corrects, but often we will go 1-2 hours with out of synch audio and video. Yes, I used the audio synching function but it doesn't help by more than a tenth of a second. I never had this problem with my previous generation television. Really, really, really regret this purchase.

    Do not buy this television!

    My television was great but now goes on without a picture Everyday I put it on it could take over 10 times to get the picture to come on. This happens daily and many times per day. I’m trying to get it replaced but not able to. Also, the audio has begun to be very chopped up. To say it has been a nightmare would be an understatement.

    Unsatisfactory Sony Bravia

    I purchased a Sony Bravia open box tv and around day 16 the TV started powering off randomly to where it now will only stay on for about 10 to 15 seconds. Best Buy would not accept a return of the TV due to it being 1 day past the 15 day return policy and although Sony has agreed the tv is defective and stated they would replace, I am still having to call them everyday to get status. Needless to say I thought I was getting a good deal but now think I’m out a thousand dollars.
