New Sony 65" LED 4K TV

Twice now the picture has morphed into vertical colorful stripes or lines. I turn the tv off and then back on the picture comes back to normal. All in all I like the size and color but am worried that the tv is defective. The tv was put in place on the wall by the Geek Squad Please advise.

For the HDMI 2.1, there is much confusion about the HDMI versions and concerns about compatibility. For this reason, we do not promote the HDMI versions incorporated on many of our products. Instead, we advertise the features of a product that are associated with a particular HDMI version. The only HDMI 2.1 feature supported by this model is eARC. For expanded features like 4K 120hz, VRR and ALLM, please check our X900H. You may also consider the Z8H for 4k 120hz. Open box not as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate to give the tv itself a single star but this review is related to the open box description and Best Buy’s inability to assist in fixing the issue. Open box description noted “excellent” condition; however, when I arrived to pick up the product it was simply in bubble wrap and did not have a remote or stand. “Excellent” condition on the website is noted as containing all components and parts as well as being in original box or comparable. This was not the case with the tv. I was given a refund for the purchase but that does not make up for the fact that I drove 4 hours round trip to and from the store for that specific item. Best Buy did not offer a similar replacement and was unwilling to help. Very disappointed in this experience. Beware if you decide to purchase an open box item.

Sony audio/video problem

Spoke with Sony level 1 & 2 technical support for 2 hours and they could not fix the problem. They stated there is a software problem they are working on to fix the problem (no timeline). The 900H also has the problem and the software fix was sent out on Nov 19.

Sound problem

And no, the mute button is not pressed. The resolution for me is to physically unplug the TV and soundbar, wait for 30 seconds replug the TV and soundbar back into the power socket, wait for the TV to go through its initial setup, and then the sound works. This has occurred three times. Sony and Best Buy have offered no help to solve the problem they assume it user error.

Nice picture, sound issues and no help

Optical output to sound bar kept loosing the sound. If you Google it you'll find out this is a known problem that evidently sony can't fix. It's too bad because the picture is fantastic. Bought an LG and it works great

Great picture though

Disappointed

Bad pixels

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been through 4 of these TVs, and each one has been rife with defective (either dead or stuck) pixels, often around the center of the screen. I realize out of all the pixels that compose a 4K screen, it’s likely for some pixels to fail, but I shouldn’t be seeing black spots in the middle of the screen anytime a pan the camera in video game (and yes, they’re visible from at least 6 ft away). It’s unacceptable. I used to be a huge Sony fan, but I don’t think I’ll ever buy a Sony tv again.

You may see one or more of the greater than 2,000,000 dots (also known as pixels) that make up the composition of the LCD or OLED screens. These dots may appear red, green, blue, white, or black.
High-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of the manufacturer, there may be a small number of dots that do not change color. This is normal operation for all LCD and OLED screens from all manufacturers. Most defects are noticeable only when an all-white or all-black picture is displayed. They shouldn't be noticeable under normal operation.
Because a defective pixel or pixels is normal on all LCD or OLED screens, there's a high chance that a replacement screen may also have them. It could have more defective pixels or the pixels may appear in a more noticeable position than on the one it replaced.
