This remote can only control the following devices.
TV, VCR, CBL(cablebox), AMP(amplifier/receiver), CD(CD player), SAT(set top box) and DVD players. Thanks. >Joffrey

It's my own fault, because every technology is expensive, especially at this low price. I'll be buying another one, I just wish it didn't fall apart so easily. Wood floors will do that though.

In any event, it disappeared. I bought the Sony 7-Function Preset Remote to replace it. After multiple tries, I gave up. It was never able to gain control of the dvd player. This was the second universal remote I tried, with no success. I have ordered a replacement for the original remote and hope I am more successful. I wasted about two hours working with this one, but could not recommend it to anyone. I couldn't even get it to work with the Samsung TV.
