The speaker suck. The TV has a hard time staying connected to the internet. I've owned it about a year and I want to throw as brick into it. I constantly buffers when my other TV's in the house work fine. Right now, I want to burn it. As soon as I finish writing this, I'm throwing it into the street.

2017 Sony is Average Color At Best

We purchased this 2017 model and returned it as the color was not good. It was darker than should have been and the Sony rep said it was Sony's attempt to enter the less expensive market. It is a failure to say the least compared to other brands. We did purchase the 2018 65" Sony model and it is fantastic.

Built in Netflix glitches at times. Easily fixed by using a chromecast but shouldn't have to for the money.

Do not waste your money! TV is nice but started showing purple spots on the screen about a month after our 2 year protection went up. Come to find out it's a known issue on this brand/model of tv with no fix from SONY. I would not recommend it.

Slightly over a year after we bought the TV, it's started showing dark on one side. I am happy i bought extended warranty or else it would have been a big loss. I am returning to Samsung, with Samsung I have never had issues with my TV

    Best affordable 70'

After purchasing a 60 inch Vizio three years ago and being very happy with it, I saw the 70 inch vizio 4k on sale. It looked awesome on line, but when seeing it in person the picture seemed the same as my older 60 inch, just bigger. I then looked at the sony's because they made my first 52 inch projection tv 15 years ago and its still going. The Sony picture quality is much brighter with true blacks and what seems to be a much crisper picture. Unfortunately their higher end 75 inch was more than I wanted to spend, going to the 65 inch didn't excite me either since the screen size increase would not be noticeable. Then I saw the 70 inch e690. Same bright, crisp picture, but not all the add on android stuff. This was no big deal since I already have a nvidia Kody box that streams all kinds of 4k. The 60hz refresh rate scurred me, but after reading about it the other manufactures advertise "effective rate" which means what it looks like, not what it is. The true 120hz is part of what makes the more expensive sony cost more. I will say after watching several movies and nfl opening weekend, my tv is sick and motion blur is non existent. The picture is so crisp and bright, that my 14 yo daughter said this after only seeing the tv for 30 seconds. In a nutshell, the Sony was $300 more, but I know I will be happier for longer and not looking for a new tv in 3 years. The extra cash was well worth it and not much compared other tvs 60 inches plus. Now I need a wall mount for the 60 inch vivio for my bedroom and have a 52 inch projection available, any takers???

This Sony would be perfect for me, however the one I purchased has significant light bleed in patches all over the screen. It was apparent last night while watching a movie in the opening credits with a black screen. Now I cannot get past this defect. I will be exchanging it.

After Exactly 3 years today my SONY TV 70” Smart TV broke down. My geek squad only had 2 years of service without an option to renew can’t do anything either. I was advised to purchase another TV. If I knew SONY was so horrible I would have gone with another brand. Do not BUY !!! Extremely disappointed :((

I have had problems off and on since my purchase. Now after a year and a half I have purple spots all over the screen. If you look online at Sony Support you will see multiple people complaining about this issue. I will never buy a Sony product again. https://us.community.sony.com/s/question/0D54O00006PO6EVSA1/70-inch-tv-not-even-2-and-half-years-old-large-blue-purple-spots?language=en_US
