We purchased it 10/2018 and it started with the blue screen and white dots by 2021. I'm sorry but I think a TV should last a whole lot longer than that. We finally replaced it 11/2023 with an LG 86" and the picture is better than anything I've ever seen.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Sony for $999.00 a few days ago but think the price went up $200 since then.Most of the TVs are THROW aways,when something breaks you will have to replace it.So it made little or NO sense to buy a television for $1500-$5000 since if anything breaks you will not be able to repair it.But at $999.00 the Sony has a great picture and as for a Smart TV ,I think all Smart Tvs are DUMB since many of us have IPTV receivers that can pickup everything where as SmartTv are very limited......

WiFi Connection Problem

Thinking to return it if its not solved. I have GigaPower Inter with Good router and I never have connectivity Issue with other device and old tv.

Also screen has become very dark indicating about to burn out any day!

However there are no super snappy features and the list of built-in streaming services are very limited.

Won't last and Sony will not stand behind it

The dreaded blue spot occurred on the screen. Sony will not replace it and blames the customer for the problem and claims since it's out of warranty there's nothing they will do. 3 months out of warranty and they won't fix it. A television should last 5 to 10 years easily. You basically have two choices when purchasing one of these pieces of garbage. You can either pay hundreds extra for a "protection plan" from the retailer, or try your luck and hope the tv lasts years longer than the crappy 1 year warranty. To me, if a company only offers a warranty for 1 year on their product, it means they don't even have faith in it. This is theft. They have your money, and you will be stuck with a defective television. Never again will I purchase another Sony product. I have an LG that has lasted 6 years, and prior to that, a Samsung that lasted over 10 years. I opted for the Sony because of the picture quality. Big mistake. They don't make this model in 70" anymore, but I wouldn't trust other sized versions to be any different. Their customer service and attitude as a company is also shameful.

This TV lasted 30 minutes in my house before I decided to take it back. The picture quality was poor. If you like watch sports on TV don't buy this one, The refresh rate is way to slow. I ended up buying the Sony 65" 850 series for $400 more. Much better TV. Spend the extra money and get a 8000 series TV. When I took the TV back, I was told the X690E was two year old technology.
