Great music and base for the price. Clear sound and great features

The System Is Not 700 Watts And It Needs More Bass. It Is Not As Good As My 15 Year Old Sony Shelf System But It has New Features That My Old Sony Doesn't Have.

This unit has the usual great sound for a Sony system that gets volume from soft CDs. However, we were VERY disappointed with the remote. If you were on track 2, and needed to pause the music to give corrections, you could not press back and start at the beginning of track 2. It jumped back to track 1. You had to push play and then push back. This is not how normal remotes work. We felt that the remote was TRASH!!! We took the system back and got the LG 700W shelf system. The teachers LOVE the remote. This LG system is a keeper! Best Buy was wonderful working with us to find the system that met our needs!

although it doesn't have a user adjustable eq, it really doesn't need one. the sound it produces is very good. no distortion at all at high volumes, and it gets very loud and hits nice for an 8" sub. i gave 4 stars because of the lacking adjustable eq and the fact that there's not alot of option for expansion, i.e.-you can't hook up alot of other components. but you can run a game system through the 3.5mm input on the front with the right connectors, (i have an xbox 360 on mine). overall it's a nice quality system with mdf speaker boxes and very clean sound from sub-bass to decent treble.

I am a huge Sony fan and always find their products to be the best of the best. Come to find out that they are surprisingly lacking in the quality of sound and music. Sony's 700w beast is more like a cheap off brand stereo system that has bluetooth capabilities. If you want bass, you need to search elsewhere. The distortion on these shocked me. My HTC One sounds far more superior than this. And no my unit was not defective. Do not waste your money on this, their are better sounding systems out there. Sorry Sony, but you've failed to deliver. I was disappointed that all these other reviews were misleading. If there was an option for zero stars I would select it...

Can this be hooked up to an insignia tv? I wanna buy but I also wanna be able to hook it up to my tv. Not sure if you can reply to these but if you can thank you

Though I am normally a Sony fan, this unit was a serious disappointment. It has descent volume output, but the sound is muddy and lacks definition. In the "flat" EQ setting, highs and upper mids are rolled off. Bass response is undefined and lacks extension. CDs sound unnaturally muffled. The system lacks individual treble and bass control which is unacceptable. All you get are a few preset EQ settings that do little to fix the poor sound quality. The CD tray is very fragile and will likely break with use. The speaker cables are tiny in diameter and too short to allow the sub-woofer to be placed on the floor when unit is on a shelf. Sadly the Sony MHCECL99BT has poor sound quality and poor build quality. Sony should never have approved this design, and certainly not at this price point. Save your money for a better system.

I was very excited to pull this out of the box being that it said it was a 700W sound system. Umm no i have a stereo I've had for over 10 yrs that sounds so much better than that mess. Taking it back to best buy in the morning. Maybe the LG is better than this mess.
