A: I can only speak for myself, but, I did cut and splice all three speakers for my setup. I needed an extended distance pushing out about 30 feet of cable. Everything works good with no noticeably diminished sound quality.
Q: Can the speakers be separated?
A: Yes, it can be separated however we recommend no to because it was designed not be separated from one unit to another. Thanks. Joffrey

A: It has an auxiliary in so if your TV has an out then yes.
