Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the picture quality, citing mesmerizing visuals and excellent black levels. Many also praise the ease of use and the TV's ability to upscale lower-resolution content to 4K. However, some users find the remote control difficult to use, and a few have reported software issues. Terrible uniformity and clouding

I had very high hopes for this TV based on online reviews, but I was extremely disappointed. I've gone through three sets and all have had the same issues: terrible panel uniformity and clouding. This is usually not visible in non-HDR content if local dimming is enabled, but if you turn local dimming off or are watching an external HDR source, the problems become very obvious. My first set had four fist-sized clouds in the middle of the screen. They were bright grey against a black background. The intro to Man in the High Castle was painful to watch since these four blotches were visible all the time. The second set also had four clouds, but these were towards the bottom of the screen. Finally, the third set had a total of 8 clouds in two columns in the middle of the screen plus clouds in all four corners. It seems like Sony decided to ship out very sub-par panels and try and make up for them with the full-array local dimming and good processing. Even if the processing was up to snuff and made the issues disappear, shipping panels of such poor quality on what is supposed to be a high-end TV is extremely disappointing. Suffice to say that the Vizio P series has better black uniformity. If you will be watching this TV in a completely dark room and will be watching HDR movies or playing HDR games, I'd recommend staying away.

trailing dark images moving behind light bckground

Sony doesn't appear to be acknowledging the fact this TV has a big flaw- trailing/smearing on dark images moving behind light background. Very disappointing for a flagship TV, do research it exists. Sony will offer to replace the unit with the same problem...

    Sad excuse for a TV

I was so excited to get this set and the extra size from a 60 to a 75. Got it home set it up and noticed immediately that it was very grainy looking on 1080p and not that great in 4k. I constantly play withnthe setting to calibrate the picture but it only increased in quality very little. Keeped the set for 5 day to make sure it was broken in and unfortunately it never looked the way I was promised by all reviews. I just can't believe how bad this TV looked. I did everything to try and not have to exchange it but it didn't work out. The color was never right always a blye hue, and everything looked flat nothing popped and it was disappointing because mynonly sharp aquos quattron plus looked way better. I have learned my lesson to never buy a sony TV again!

    Excellent Display..Poor Quality

I purchased the TV in Dec 2016. Worked fine for 3 months but one day display suddenly went bad. Started showing black-white flickering strips on whole display. Customer support has been worst. They have been taking own sweet time to decide whether to replace or repair. Imagine spending $4000 for TV and have to go through this ordeal in just 4 months.

Did not purchase here but still a bad TV

I did not buy this at Best Buy but I want to warn everyone that this TV sucks! I have had it for less than 5 months and this past Saturday the Tv power went off mid-movie and never came back. Sony tells me it will be 2 weeks to get the part and repair the TV, but my problem is how do they know which part to replace without ever seeing the TV? I have a feeling that they will come out with the part they assume is bad and it will not be the problem and I will have to wait an additional 2 weeks for the next part to come in.

    Worked great, until it didn't

Bought this tv 2 years ago. Last month, it suddently went black. Sound worked. Took it for repair and sony technicians ran diagnostics. Basically, I now have a 75" paper weight. Screen died and cannot be replaced. Now I am not sure about you, but I expect a tv that cost a few thousand dollars to last more than 2 1/2 years. I have other televisions from LG that are well over 5 years old and still working beautifully. Never buying Sony again.

    Garbage - Don't buy Sony

This is my LAST Sony purchase. Good initially, but after 2 years and no longer under warranty, vertical lines appeared which means the screen is shot. I paid $3000 for the tv which was originally $5000. The tv is only about 8 months out of warranty, and sony was unwilling to stand behind their product, even such an expensive one. Essentially they said "Be careful throwing it in the trash."

After spending a good deal of time carefully setting this TV up, and watching about an hours worth of a BlueRay.....The TV just died leaving a flashing red light to indicate a problem. Now I'm playing phone tag trying to get a solution that in not weeks in the waiting.
