    Ok, but returned it

    Do your research...Sony chose an ISP back panel with edge lighting and no local dimming. This makes for poor black levels and contrast. Colorful scenes look great, but darker scenes, not so much. Returned it and got the Samsung NU8000. It has a VA panel vs. the ISP. While it is still edge lit it has local dimming for better black levels and contrast. Only plus of the ISP panel is better of angle viewing.

    Huge waste of money

    Should have done my research on this tv and how Sony handles issues like this before buying! Noticed backlighting issues immediately starting in the corners like many other reviews have stated now that I have come to find. Would come and go so we didn’t let it concern us. The issue got worse over time. In under two years the whole tv is done for. Best Buy and Sony wont do anything to help. This is a horrible tv. I will not be buying Sony again. Make sure you buy the extended warranty with Best Buy! I’m very disappointed in the Sony customer service and quality of product they are selling. A $2500 tv should last longer than 20 months without having issues like this!

    Buyer Beware-Sony TVs have issues

    I purchased this TV and a month later the screen cracked. Sony said it is due to physical damage and they can not fix the TV. I am out the entire purchase price after 1 month of owning this flatscreen. Their screens are very flimsy and after a simple google search found that this has been a problem for many other people. Sony will not stand behind their product and I will never buy another Sony product. Don't make the same mistake I did, look for other quality brands,

    Terrible

    This tv is not worth buying. I have had it for about a week now and the speakers no longer produce sound. Changed every setting possible and still nothing. Also the Netflix app never works properly. Had a Hisense TV, before I replaced it with this one, and the Hisense worked better and cost a lot less. Now I have to take down the tv from the mount and go through the hassle of returning it. This TV was a bad choice.

    Have had TV for 2.5 years. Screen just went black, still have sound and white led back lights... Apparently this seams to be an issue with this TV... 3000$ piece of crap. I have all Sony products and got this for the Bravia sync feature...Had a really nice picture. For the money I could've gotten something else .. who needs Bravia sync

    Apps incompatible/Horrible Customer Service

    The AndroidTV installed on this TV is not compatible with DirectTV Now and has issues with SLingTV app. These are the only 2 apps I have tried so far but I am sure there will be more. The customer service for Sony was horrible, they have no clue about what they are doing. The funny thing being they suggested I plug in a Roku to the TV and use those Apps. Does one pay $2500 to use a TV with Roku. My 2013 Insignia TV is good for that. Why do they advertise as built-in chromcast when the version of chromecast is not compatible to all apps. They should categorically call out what is not compatible and not give incorrect information to the customer. They are giving a month's Sling TV free subscription with the TV while Sling app itself is not compatible. Simply ridiculous.

    Broken out of the box

    This is a BIG tv - Filles up the entire bed of my F150 - it takes two people to do anything - open box, move - set up - you name it takes two people. After being extremely gentle with it - we turn power on and the screen comes on for 20-30 secs, shows a break in upper left hand side and goes black ! It’s Christmas Eve and this was my wife’s Christmas Present :(

    Stopped working at 3.3 years.

    It was a great tv until it wasnt. Purchased Dec 2018, stopped working May 2022. Having a hard time finding someone to fix it so now we are looking for a new one. 3.3 years is not a long enough lifespan for a pricy item like this, but seems pretty typical.

    I purchased this tv 6 months ago. Within the last month "clouding" has begun to spread on the tv. Contacting Sony has been a HUGE hassle and a fight from the beginning. You would think purchasing an expensive tv would last longer. But not if it is Sony. After fighting with them they have agreed to send a refurbished tv, which is worth 1800 and I paid 2300 for my tv 6 MONTHS AGO. So not only have their products been useless their customer services fails as well.

    Terrible for Streaming

    I bought this tv about three months ago and have come to despise it. I had no idea how terrible Sony would compare with Samsung and LG in terms of quality and speed of streaming video. I constantly have problems with my Sony with multiple apps including Netflix, Hulu (Sony isn't compatible with Hulu Live btw), and Sling while I can move to a different room and use my Samsung with no issues. Extremely disappointed that I chose this tv for my living room.

    Fatally Flawed, DO NOT BUY

    Just purchased today this TV, got it home followed everything to a T to inbox the TV and install it, pressed power and the TV went Snap! Got on the phone with Sony they stated it’s just a dud and to take it back to Best Buy, also I took the web and Forbes even states that this TV is Fatally Flawed! Now I gotta deal with Best Buy again tomorrow back to the store! https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2018/05/23/sony-x850f-tv-review-fatally-flawed/#77679626174f This is definitely not a great TV and the headache I went thru even with Sony’s hold time turns me off completely from SONY! I’m returning it promptly tomorrow!
