Best Performance Given Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony x900e maximizes performance given price for my setup. I didn't want to spend needlessly, but I also wanted a TV with a "wow" factor. After 1 month of using this TV for watching cable, streaming, blu rays, PC gaming, and console gaming, I couldn't be happier. I'm especially impressed with the picture quality of certain cable channels and 1080 blu rays. I will say, at the 75" price, it's worth considering an OLED in 65". After looking at both, it's very hard to see a difference in everyday usage, so I took the extra 10". I also have a bright and large living room, so the x900e was a superior choice. In the end, it wasn't easy spending $3k on a TV, but this is a long term investment and a smart one if you choose the Sony x900e.

Very over rated
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At just over a year I was told the main board in the TV was going bad. It would not turn on unless it was unplugged for a while and left to sit. Now it just turns on randomly all day every day. This alone over weighs any type of picture quality that may have sold me on the TV, and this is the second Sony to fail on me in 5 years time. Sony support is also just awful. I'd pass if I were you.

Sony TV is it worth extra $$$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this because of specs. Nice features but response time from remote input very slow. The built in Direct TV nice feature but kept dropping out and locking up. Ended up returning it. Not worth the extra $1000.

Lost Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Sony 75” X900E Series TV back on June 25, 2017 for $3,797. Up until a few days ago I did not have any issues with this TV. Unfortunately, a little over three years after we bought the TV, the screen went to solid large green horizontal bars. I contacted Sony and followed all of their trouble shooting techniques but none of them worked. We are now forced to have our three year old Sony TV repaired. Is it common for a $3,797 TV to only last three years? I would ask yourself that question before you consider buying a Sony TV.

Amazing picture and sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the XBR850E and was happy until I noticed the spot lighting in all 4 corners from the edge lite display! Looked like flashlights shinning behind the screen from all 4 corners to the center! The darker the picture the worse it is! Watching sports or news u don’t see it! I watch lots of movies and most are dimmer or darker than tv! Tried to ignore it but it got the best of me! It Was not what I was expecting from Sony! Was a little nervous on spending another $1000.00 to upgrade to the “full arrayXBR75X900E” but Best Buy made it too easy for me to say no! They even delivered the XBR75X900E and picked up the XBR75X850E to return at the same time with just only charging me the price difference of the tv!(figured they would charge me for both TVs then credit one back when they received it back) Then promised if I didn’t like it they would come and pick it up again!! BUT There not getting this one back! What a amazing picture and no light bleed at all! This is what I exspected from Sony! Wish I would have just spent the money and got it the first time around! O well I’m a pro at wall mounting it now anyway! Now hopefully it will last 10+yrs like my xbr52”(now my garage tv and still going strong) just wanted something bigger and newer! Thanks Best Buy for the great experience and help!

X-tended Dynamic Range Tech Makes the Difference
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony X-tended Dynamic Range PRO technology, combined with its 4K Processor X1, really makes a difference if you are trying to decide among different manufacturers. It can make normal HD blu-ray movies look like 4k HDR movies. My wife, who usually doesn't care about picture quality, keeps commenting on how good lights and colors look from our blu-ray movies, and she can't wait to watch Christmas movies on this TV. Seriously, if 4k HDR movies only looked as good as normal blu-rays looked on this TV, I still would have been thrilled.

JUNK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Bought a 75" 4K Sony TV ( approx. $4,000.00) , within 10 days a horizontal & vertical line appeared. Brought it back to best buy, geek squad came out with another set. It also within days had the same problem. I'm going back to VIZIO. Total Junk sorry Sony - never again, twice burned.

Finally A Worthy TV!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been in the market for a 4Ktv for 2 years and finally the 900E is the first 4Ktv that is a great all-round 4K. I'm coming from a 60" Panasonic Plasma which is a great tv for HD viewing and 90% of what you'll be watching is in HD not 4K. So I wanted a 4ktv that is as good as my plasma which I could never find until the 900E. When I hooked up the 900E to my surprise was that it was not only as good as my plasma but better. The picture is so stable and the motion is so smooth that it really upscales directv feeds to make them look closer to a native 4k than HD. I cant recommend this TV enough I would give it 6 stars if I could. Yes I do admit that the LG OLED 4k is bettter than the 900e when viewing something in native 4k and not by much but the 900e is better when viewing HD than the LG OLED and the majority of tv viewing is still HD. Buy the 900E..You wont be disappointed.

Excellent TV - Sony is the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We looked at and researched several 75' TV's before buying the 900E. It came down to it and the 850E. The 900E was much brighter and had deeper blacks and more vivid colors. Back lit vs. side lit. Well worth the difference in price. The Sammy, LG and Vizio in the same price range just didn't compare. And I really enjoy having the apps on the home screen. Makes life a lot easier, especially if you use ARC to your receiver. The upconversion gives a whole new life to Blu Ray disks - you will find yourself watching your movies again and seeing things you never saw before. And I strongly suggest having it professionally calibrated. Or at least go to You Tube and find the settings to use from a pro that lists them, and take the time to set it up. Those can get you pretty close. The out of the box picture is good but the calibrated picture is stunning. Incredible brightness but not overbearing. Colors are rich and detailed. Blacks are black. Watching sports on the 900E is almost like being there. I can't wait to watch The Masters on it! Plenty of useful apps, like Netflix, etc. Plenty of HDMI inputs, and ARC for sending the audio to the receiver. We are amazed each time we watch it. Well worth the extra $ vs. the 850, and when calibrated it is so close to the higher end Sony models that most eyes will not be able to tell the difference. Highly, highly recommended.

Beyond Belief
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality on this Sony is just amazing. Since I planned on placing this tv in a very brightly lit room with lots of windows, my concern was that the picture would get washed out...no issue. The colors just pop and the 4k upscaling is the best in the industry (sorry Vizio). My prior tv was a Panasonic plasma which until recently blew all of the LCD/LED 4k sets out of the water in picture/color quality. I can honestly say that this Sony surpasses plasma in color depth and image quality at a distance. I mated this Sony to the Vizio 5.1 sound system as I found the Bluetooth Subwoofer to have excellent sound, fits well under my sofa, and a good value.

Xtended Dyn Range Pro & Full Array Local Dimming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally purchased an 850E but the TV struggled in my very bright family room. I bought it because it was reviewed as a solid TV and the price point was half of the 900E which I really wanted. I found myself struggling to see the picture on the 850E during the daytime. Best Buy made it very easy to swap it out for a 900E and it blows the 850E away in every respect. This TV has no problem in my bright room. If you're on the fence and you have the $$ buy the 900E. Brightness, contrast, BLACKS, etc all superior on this TV over the 850E. If you are a former Plasma owner you must buy a higher end LED/LCD TV or you will be very disappointed with the low end stuff. Blacks, contrast, brightness, refresh rates all sub par in the lower end models.

Set it up and everything about it is EXCELLENT. I also got 200 hundred off plus and they threw in a 4 K UBP x800 ultra 3D HD player. Get 1 if you can you won't be disappointed
