picture not a clear as I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems that the upscaling can't handle low resolution video such as 480i. It looks worse on this tv than it did on my 15 year old 1080i tv.

Was not happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dolby Vision darkened the picture too much. Sony has no way to turn off the feature. I ended up returning it.

Sports streaming apps unwatchable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find it hard to imagine many people in the market for this TV aren't planning to watch live sports on it, and it turns out the ESPN and Fox Sports apps in the TVs OS both have unwatchable stuttering issues that so far have been unaddressed by Sony. Honestly, I feel deceived that this TV was even put on shelves for sale with this lingering issue, and had I known about these issues before purchase, I would have immediately crossed Sony off my list of potential TVs to buy.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV. Bought the 75 inch exactly one month ago and so far the picture is far superior to my 2015 Sony 65x850c. Below is a summary: Pro's -Bright, Impressive Picture -4k Detail/Upscaling looks amazing -TV is viewable even in a bright/sunny room with little reflection -TV Stand is Sturdy -Design of TV overall is very good and minimalist-people watching will focus on the TV screen itself and not on the bezel or surrounding structure of the set. Cons: -Like most LED TV's the Viewing Angle from the side is limited. (Not a problem for me as I sit in front-75 inches creates a lot of real estate in front of the TV) -HDR does look a little washed out. I actually prefer standard HD movies to HDR on this TV. -HDMI ports 2&3 are the only 2 ports that offer enhanced format (for watching 4k HDR or gaming). Slight criticism here as this doesn't affect me, however Samsung appears to offer enhanced format on all 4 HDMI ports for its similarly priced models. I don't use the "smart" features of this TV and prefer my own Roku device, thus I cannot comment on those. Tips: -I started adjusting the TV picture settings at fist but have found the factory settings to be near-perfect. I have now restored most setting to factory-default and just use them as follows: -I recommend using "Standard" picture mode for basic TV watching-this mode shows a brighter, more warm picture-great for daytime viewing. -I recommend either "Cinema Home" or "Cinema Pro" for Movies on this TV- both settings are good with Cinema Home being slightly brighter and Cinema Pro being darker but closer to what the picture appears to look like at the movie theater. -For Football (or sports in general), the "Sports" mode really works well-the display of motion on this TV is pretty good. You can probably go to RTNGS or another website for advice on how to customize the picture settings and make it slightly better, I tried but really found the pre-sets for the various picture modes to be on-point right out of the box, a good job done here by Sony.

developed a line after a year or so
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv had some problems the whole time I had it. Eventually it formed a line that would not go away. Luckily I had purchased a warranty for it and it was replaced.

Great tv for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is decent tv for price, it is full array back lit tv so no annoying light flicker on black bars when watching movies. Design is very attractive Easy to assemble will need two people, follow the instructions to assemble, you will not have a smudge on screen after you put it on entertainment center. Follow picture setting from www.ratings.com you will be set Make sure you activate full band width hdmi on hdmi 2 and 3 this is the key to get hdr and wide color gamut. I have direct tv 4K, Apple TV 4K and Oppo 203 4K Player attached via Pioneer Elite SC-95 AVR. I have not tested hdmi 1 and 4, hdmi3 has also arc enabled port. Android tv is ok not as good as tizen on Samsung or WebOS on LG, I will Not be using tv built apps as I wanted to use full band width audio (Dolby Atmos) from amazon prime and Apple TV, not possible With ARC. I have tested DV, HDR 10 and HLG all worked fine. Direct comparison to this set is Samsung Q8FN, but at $700 extra, I would recommend buy Sony and put saving for nice sound bar as it is needed to enjoy movie on this set. Samsung is marginally better if price is same I may have bought Samsung, Sony has DV though which is marginally better than HDR. Sony also upscale better than Samsung Q8. This tv is very bright so no issues in bright rooms. If you want even brighter then Z9F is available for $6k but most of time people watch tv in darker rooms so that is overkill. I am happy with OLED in another bright room, so this set is more than enough for use in darker room. The 65 inch tvs I bought previously were all more money. So under $3k FALD set, size of 75 inch seems bargain now. Take advantage of Black Friday prices, these sets don’t see much prices decrease, even last year 950 is selling at same price, and this set is better than last year.

Was decent for almost 2 years, then pixels died
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed on December 4, 2018 by Geek Squad and has not been used much. Watching it tonight and suddenly a series of pixels, spanning the entire width of the screen, went out. I've tried restarting the television, but it is still there. Very disappointed that a $3,000 television craps out so quickly.

I am disgusted with best buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were charged for cables we did not receive. Have looked for assistance to resolve this issue, online messages, phone calls. No help .no return messages,no phone calls. We spent just under $5000.00 for this package. We will pass this on to our friends and family. If this is not settled I will NEVER have anything to do with best buy.

Tv Going Out
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this tv for 1.5 and in that time it’s barely been used since it’s in the basement. The tv keeps cutting off and occasionally will not come back on for a few minutes. The tv will no longer connect to WiFi. Complete waste of money!

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV met all of my expectations and then some. So far it works great in our very bright living room (previous TV made daytime viewing almost impossible). Colors and blacks look amazing, just had it mounted yesterday, so time will tell if it will last like previous generations. I spent a tonnnnnnnn of time researching and numbers crunching but what it all boiled down to was the tv going to be worth the cost, and so far I believe it was. The interface could use some improvements, as well as the remote, but if you are seriously considering this, those are the only two very minor cons I can find with this system, and in comparison to other brands you'll find most of them have the same or similar issues. All in all great buy, if you're considering this set, pull the trigger, you wont be disappointed.

Sony shines again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You could say I am a professional amateur of tv technology. I have owned plasma TVs, LCDs, and Oleds, which I still own a 55 inch c7 for my bedroom. Oleds are a blessing and a curse. I got used to the infinite contrast, color accuracy and perfect blacks that LCD technology just couldn’t and still can’t match but since I wanted more real estate and the 77 inch Oled cost as much as a basement remodeling job so I decided to try out Sony’s latest addition flagship tv for 2018. I’ve owned a couple of Sony’s before and always thought thier TVs was always top rated. I’ve owned the 900f for two weeks and running it thru all kinds of material from Apple TV streaming, native streaming from built in apps, 4K movies, cable tv and usb movie watching. After playing around with all the different picture adjustments I find custom settings works great for me. It’s a individual choice and each person should decide what gives them the best viewing experience. I am very happy to say SONY does it again! FALD with local dimming has produced deep blacks that I didn’t think LCD was capable of. As a rule the deeper the blacks the better the contrast. The motion is great for sports and movie watching. I can go forever but I will end this review by saying Sony remains on top of thier TV game and I am glad to be a benefactor of that.

Great Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was a breeze. Follow the picture calibration settings on rtings.com for optimal picture performance. Picture out of the box can be very bright. Great picture. Achieves the brightness required even in my bright living room. Deep blacks. Contrast is sufficient is most cases. Minimal light bleeding when picture has combination of black and white cells . TV tuner is strong and is able to pick up channels that are 40 miles away with a 15$ antenna. Since screen is large at 75in, 480i TV is bad. Although 1080i OTA picture is very good. HAven't tried 4kUHD yet, but expect to see no issues with it. Android can be jerky at times. Built-in chromecast and streaming through for e.g Hulu works great.
